Atelier de Escultura do Mestre Wu Weishan e a Estátua de Confúcio

The idea of erecting a Confucius statue at Meng Tak Building came into shape in 2013 with the huge support of Professor Wu Weishan, who created this two-metre tall statue for MPU as a gift and guided the design of the venue in person during the time he was lecturing at the Institute. The statue stands in the lobby of Meng Tak Building against a wall with a design simulating bamboo slips, where Professor Wu's calligraphy from his article ‘The Ancient Way of Sculpturing Confucius’ is inscribed, infusing the lobby with a strong atmosphere of Chinese traditional culture and an artistic ambience.
