MPI’s 40th Anniversary Sports Day

Macao Polytechnic Institute’s athletic activities unite students

In order to promote the healthy physical and mental development of university students and to build a harmonious and loving campus, the Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic Institute recently held “MPI’s 40th Anniversary Sports Day”, which attracted the participation of more than 100 students with everyone enjoying a great time.

“MPI’s 40th Anniversary Sports Day” was launched with more than 100 students doing warm-up exercises. The competition was combined with several interesting and challenging competitive events and obstacle races. Students teamed up to participate in many exciting games. In the competition, the participants worked together to complete each task and challenge.  This enabled them to enhance their team awareness through team spirit, and manifested the optimistic, strong and united spirit of “MPI people”.

Ms. Chin, President of the Student Union of Macao Polytechnic Institute, said that team competitions could strengthen communication and friendship among students and they could also learn to support each other and work together to meet challenges. Students enjoyed the competition very much, and the spirit of “Friendship First, Competition Second” was reflected. Mr Cheok, a student in Chinese-Portuguese Translation, said that the exciting games could help improve his physical fitness, and the activity had made him pay more attention to physical and mental health and he was determined to involve himself in physical training. Ms Wong, majoring in Physical Education, said that the Sports day had helped her improve her ability on adversity and pressure, reminded her to maintain an optimistic attitude, and helped her prepare herself physically and mentally for an exam in the following week.

Macao Polytechnic Institute aims to actively promote the whole-person development of young people. It organizes a variety of campus activities to give full play to students’ personalities and strengths, and is committed to promoting students’ healthy physical and mental growth, as well as encouraging students to establish a healthy lifestyle. The Student Affairs Office has launched a series of activities to spread the spirit of mutual assistance and unity in campus, to strengthen students’ sense of belonging, improve their physical and mental health, and cultivate outstanding and well-rounded talents for Macao and the country.
