In order to support the development of Macao as Centre for World Tourism and Leisure, as well as to promote high quality development of the integrated tourism and leisure industry, the Centre for Continuing Education of Macao Polytechnic University will launch new courses for art exhibitions to meet the human resource needs of diversified cultural events. The courses are now open for application and welcome practitioners from or those who are interested in joining industries related to art and culture, exhibitions, as well as creativity.  Application is on first-come-first served basis.

From May of this year onward, the Centre will offer the following courses: “Arts Administration and Management Practice”, “Publicity and Marketing Practice for Arts Curation” and “Practical Exhibition Design”.  These courses will be taught by a local artist, curator and interior design director who will share their professional expertise and experience in art administration and management, arts marketing, exhibition organisation and design, and so on.

“Arts Administration and Management Practice” will use visual arts as the basis to learn arts administration and management, as well as practical knowledge of marketing of arts, etc.  The course aims to help students develop their understanding of practical administration and management skills for arts, and nurture human resources in implementing arts curation and organization for the cultural creativity industries.

The course content for “Publicity and Marketing Practice for Arts Curation” will cover knowledge and skills in exhibition organisation, as well as artistic writing.  The aim is to develop students’ ability to manage practical workflow and skills, as well as implementing appropriate plans for contemporary arts curation.  The course is suitable for those who would like to develop practical skills for joining the art and cultural creativity industries.

“Practical Exhibition Design” will base teaching on the fundamental design of exhibition space, and integrate practical knowledge of exhibit display and arrangement, visual display, exhibition space illumination, multi-media applications, and so on.  The aim is to develop students’ practical skills in implementing exhibition design plans compatible with actual workflow of the arts exhibition market. The course is suitable for those who would like to develop practical skills for joining the art and exhibition related industries.
