In a further effort to enhance safety education and fraud prevention awareness for students and youths, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University recently organised the 2023 Crime Prevention Week in collaboration with the Macao Judiciary Police, the Public Security Police Force and the Commission Against Corruption. Several seminars and experiential activities were conducted in Chinese and Portuguese, disseminating crime prevention messages on campus and elevating fraud prevention awareness through this collaboration between the police and the university.

During the 2023 Crime Prevention Week, representatives from the Judiciary Police delivered seminars on preventing computer crimes and cyberbullying, the anti-drug law and the drug cannabis, and preventing telephone fraud, while representatives from the Public Security Police Force focused on youth crime prevention. The content of these seminars was comprehensive, with speakers sharing their work experience and professional knowledge, providing practical fraud prevention tips and methods, and engaging in interactive discussions with students. The Student Affairs Office organised a visit to the Commission Against Corruption for the students to experience work as an investigator, allowing them to learn about anti-corruption and anti-crime legal knowledge and participate in interactive games to understand the work of investigators.

The organising team at the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University stated that the 2023 Crime Prevention Week aims to increase students’ safety awareness and continues collaboration with government departments and social institutions to enhance fraud prevention education for students, contributing to the establishment of a safe campus.
