Recently, the Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) database of the Institute for Chinese Social Sciences Research and Assessment of Nanjing University announced that the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University (Humanities and Social Sciences Edition) has been selected as one of the CSSCI (2023-2024) source journal. The successful selection of the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University as a CSSCI source journal demonstrates the recognition of Macao's academic community and the affirmation of Macao Polytechnic University's scientific research achievements.

Chinese Social Sciences Citation Index (CSSCI) is a citation index database in the humanities and social sciences developed by Nanjing University, containing all sources and citations of source journals (collection of publications), with the aim of serving knowledge innovation, cutting-edge research and judgement, comprehensive evaluation, and enhance the influence of Chinese academics in the field of humanities and social sciences. Its data is actual records of the production of academic results and citations in the field of Chinese-language humanities and social sciences, the main medium of which are journals (collection of publications), as well as raw data and statistical results that can be used by research institutions, academic journals and researchers for the purposes of analysis, research, criticism and evaluation.

The Journal of Macao Polytechnic University is a comprehensive academic journal in the field of humanities and social sciences hosted by the Macao Polytechnic University. In recent years, the academic influence of the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University has continued to increase. According to the rankings of academic articles reprinted in full text by the "Replicated Journals" produced by Renmin University of China, the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University has been at the forefront in China for 10 consecutive years, with 6^th place achieved in its reprint rate, 8^th place in comprehensive index, and 8^th place in reprint count in the 2022 national journals hosted by higher education institutions.  Besides, the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University has been selected three times and to be included in the list of important source journals hosted by higher education institutions. In 2022, it has also been selected as one of the four high reprint count, high reprint rate and high reprint index lists in "Comprehensive Journal of Humanities and Social Sciences". In additions, many academic papers published by the Journal of Macao Polytechnic University were reprinted by Xinhua Digest, Chinese Social Science Digest and China University Academic Abstracts, among others.
