Orientation for Exchange Students for the First Semester of Academic Year 2015/2016

The Student Affairs Office organized a series of orientation activities to welcome 60 exchange students from Portugal and the mainland of China for the first semester of academic year 2015/2016, between the 17th and 21st August 2015.

The students started to arrive in Macao on 17th August, the staff of the Student Affairs Office greeting them at Macao International Airport and Macao Ferry Terminal with welcome packs and escorting them to their student hostels. As well as important information about the Institute the welcome packs contained practical gifts such as a universal travel plug, plastic folders, and maps and information about Macao provided by the Tourist Office. The exchange students were then assisted in registering, opening bank accounts, grocery shopping, buying a local phone card, and taken to the hospital for their medical examination.

A campus tour was arranged to familiarize the exchange students with the facilities and various departments of our Institute, as well as a visit to the Gaming Teaching and Research Center and information sessions on computers and the network, between the 19th and 21st August. A welcome lunch was arranged on 21st August to introduce the President, Vice President and their School Directors to the exchange students to enable them to get to know each other. At the end of the welcome lunch a small surprise was prepared for the birthday students, who were asked to be on stage when a birthday cake was produced and all the participants sang birthday songs for them in Chinese and Portuguese. The Student Affairs Office will also arrange a one-day Macao tour for the exchange students so that they can get to know more about Macao.
