MPI Students Learn from Alumni on Preparing for Overseas Study
In order to assist students in their career planning, and set their future development directions in advance, the Macau Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and Cambridge International Academy of the United Kingdom jointly organised the "Master & PhD Admission Talks". Admissions specialists from the London School of Economics and Political Science, the University of Manchester, Imperial College London, the University of Warwick, the University of Oxford and the University of Birmingham were invited to explain the enrollment information related to applying for postgraduate courses. At the same time, the Student Affairs Office of MPI held a "Sharing Session on Further Study Preparation" for students who intend to study abroad, and an alumna, who has done some postgraduate study overseas, shared her preparations for furthering studies.
Alumna Kuong Ka Man, who completed her postgraduate courses at the University of Warwick shared some tips for preparing for further studies such as résumé-writing, English proficiency requirements, study experience and information regarding adapting to life in the UK. When summarizing the plan for further studies, Ms Kuong encouraged students to participate in different types of activities at MPI, so as to discover and cultivate their own interests and expertise, which might become a direction for their further studies. Ms Dai, who majored in e-commerce, said that by listening to Ms Kuong she had deepened her understanding of the preparatory work for overseas studies. Her tip of fully using the long vacation and spare time to create more life experiences for oneself greatly inspired her.

The Student Affairs Office continues to organize various activities that help students plan their careers, such as various seminars on further studies, employment and entrepreneurship, corporate visits and internship programmes. All these are carried out to encourage students to enhance themselves, strive forward, develop their personal attributes and their own advantages, so as to contribute their part to the development of Macao and China.
