In recent years, the Macao SAR Government has been committed to promoting the smart city development strategy, and by using technology and optimising processes the coverage of e-government has been increased. In order to meet the needs of the development of the new era, the Centre for Continuing Education of the Macao Polytechnic University has launched the "Technology and Engineering Application Series", including the following courses:  "Digital Transformation: Practice and Application", "Big Data and Industrial Application", "Big Data Analysis and Industrial Application (Advance Level)" and "Smart Tourism Development and Application". The courses are now open for application and interested parties are welcome to apply.

The "Digital Transformation: Practice and Application" course aims to enable participants to learn how enterprises can use information technology and related human resources realignment to integrate innovation and creativity as part of digital transformation to achieve sustainable development. By understanding the changes that digital transformation will bring to operations; the tools, methodologies and key techniques of digital transformation; the importance of human resources and corporate culture to successful digital transformation; and how to deploy effective digital transformation solutions, enterprises will be better equipped to cope with the rapidly changing market environment in the future.

The "Big Data and Industrial Application" course introduces data technology and analysis methods, the application of big data analysis and market strategy in various industries, how big data analysis can assist organizations in making strategic decisions, and conducts case studies with the application of big data in the industry. The course aims to enhance students' understanding of big data analysis and the ability to analyse and apply big data while learning the basic principles of data analysis and application, basic statistical analysis and practice and different data analysis models, and also introducing the industrial application of big data analysis.

The "Smart Tourism Development and Application" course aims to guide participants to understand the principles and development of smart tourism. The course will introduce the basic knowledge of the concept of smart tourism information technology, smart tourism systems and application scenarios, etc., and introduce the development of smart tourism, tourism analysis and practice, and the sustainable development prospects of smart tourism in Macao and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area through case studies.

Tuition fees for the above-mentioned courses can be paid through the PDAC scheme of the Education and Youth Development Bureau. The Centre for Continuing Education of the Macao Polytechnic University is offering 40+ professional training courses in Q1 of this year, including: the MICE Series, the Social Care / Nursing Practice Series, the Art and Design Practice Series, the Business Application and Business Management Series, the Language and Communication Series, the Youth Nurturing Series, the Social Work Professional Practice Series and the Public Administration Practice Series.
