In line with the national "Belt and Road" Initiative, the establishment of Macao as a platform between China and Portuguese-speaking countries, and the embracing of Chinese culture as mainstream while promoting multicultural coexistence, Macao Polytechnic University has been actively promoting internationalisation in higher education. In recent years, through international collaborations, the university has attracted international students and exchange students from around the world. In order to assist international and exchange students in adapting to Macao's culture and campus life, the Student Affairs Office organised a cultural exploration activity, where international and exchange students visited the historic district of Macao, having the opportunity to explore and experience the vibrant culture of Macao and China.

In this cultural exploration activity, participants included Portuguese-speaking international students from Portugal, Brazil, Cape Verde, Angola, Mozambique, São Tomé and Príncipe, Guinea-Bissau, and Equatorial Guinea, as well as exchange students from mainland China. The activity included visits to several famous landmarks in Macao, such as the Ruins of St. Paul's, A-Ma Temple and Taipa Houses, helping international and exchange students to experience the cultural and historical heritage of Macao and understand the unique blend of Chinese and Western cultures. Students also had the opportunity to visit a traditional street market and stroll along the characteristic streets of Macao, so experiencing the daily life of local residents.

According to Ms. Lao Weng Ian, the Head of the Student Affairs Office, MPU welcomes over a hundred international and exchange students from around the world, and in order to help them adapt to Macao's life, the Student Affairs Office organises a series of activities, including cultural explorations, discovering Macao, and experiencing Chinese culture. These activities aim to help international and exchange students better adapt to Macao's lifestyle and culture while providing them with a deeper understanding of Chinese culture, promoting international cultural exchange and talent exchange, and having a fulfilling and enjoyable university life.
