MPU Students visit Macau International Airport to Learn about the Development of the Aviation Industry

In line with the Macao SAR government's "1+4" diversification development strategy, and to facilitate the career planning of university students, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic University recently organised the "Enterprises Visit Series - Visit to Macau International Airport" activity. A group of forty students received a warm welcome from Macau International Airport Company Limited, who provided detailed explanations and shared information about airport operations and the development of the aviation industry. This visit aimed to offer students a wider range of choices for their future career development and planning.

The visiting group consisted of students from different programs, including Artificial Intelligence, Public Administration, Biomedical Technology, Translation, Design, Interdisciplinary Arts, E-commerce, Finance, and Data Analysis. The students were granted access to the restricted areas of the airport and had the opportunity to visit facilities such as the apron, runway, and aircraft maintenance station. Through demonstration and on-site observation, they gained a deeper understanding of the services and operations of the airport's terminal and the various job positions within the airport. This experience provided students with more possibilities and broadened their career perspectives for their future professional development. The participating students expressed that they were impressed by the staff’s strict attitudes about maintaining safety. Being able to visit the internal areas of the airport, they had a new insight about different aviation-related positions. Through firsthand observations of different positions within the airport, they developed a keen interest in the professional knowledge and workflow of airport operations.

Macao Polytechnic University has always been committed to assisting students in developing their career planning, and creating opportunities and support for their internships and employment. The Student Affairs Office organises events such as career development day, career and internship seminars, and enterprise visits every year. These activities enable students to stay updated on industry developments and market demand, and enhance their employment competitiveness, so contributing to expanding the pool of talent available to the Macau SAR government.
