Macao Polytechnic University and Shanghai Conservatory of Music will hold the "Harmony in Purity - Shanghai Conservatory of Music and Macao Polytechnic University Student Exchange Concert" at 8:00 pm on October 20, 2023 at the Macao Polytechnic University Auditorium, bringing a feast of Chinese and Western music.

Macao Polytechnic University and the Shanghai Conservatory of Music have always maintained good academic exchanges and cooperation. The concert will further strengthen the friendly cooperation between the two institutions and provide students with a platform to showcase their talents, exchange experiences, and expand each other's musical horizons. At the concert, students will present Chinese and Western classical music works in different performance forms. Students from the Shanghai Conservatory of Music will perform silk quintet, flute, erhu and pipa solos, while students from Macao Polytechnic University’s Bachelor of Arts in Music programme will perform vocal solo, vocal duet, saxophone and flute solo, etc. In addition, students from the two schools will collaborate to perform the Chinese music piece "White Jade Bauhinia" composed for the concert by Ni Chenkang, a composer and Shanghai Conservatory of Music postdoctoral fellow. This piece of music was invited to be composed for the Shanghai Conservatory of Music's trip to Hong Kong and Macao in 2023. The first folk music sextet work symbolizes the fusion of white magnolia, redbud and green lotus. Just like the exchange and integration between the Shanghai Conservatory of Music and the Hong Kong and Macao Academy, it will give birth to a new and gorgeous chapter of sublimation.

This exchange concert will bring a new chapter to the cooperation between the two schools, and we look forward to the growth and progress of the students in music exchanges. Admission to the concert is free, and music lovers are welcome to attend, witness this grand event of music exchange, and enjoy the charm of music together.
