MPU Students Catch their Dreams in the New Academic Year

Macao Polytechnic University Students Catch their Dreams in the New Academic Year

To help students adapt to the university study environment of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) and initiate their colourful university life, and to welcome more than 1,600 new students enrolled in undergraduate, master’s and doctoral degree programmes from Macao, the Greater Bay Area and other regions of the country, Portuguese-speaking countries and other overseas regions, the Student Affairs Office of MPU held the “Catch Your Dreams” Welcome Day with the hope that all MPU students will realise their dreams, create infinite possibilities in their youth and start a brilliant journey at MPU.

Four different areas—Orientation, Wisdom, Moral Education and Inclusion—will be addressed in the orientation activities this year, which include the activities of the general education scheme, service learning scheme, charitable fellowship programme, career planning activities, and physical and mental health development. The participating freshmen in the Welcome Day said that they were both excited and looking forward to attending classes on campus. Students wearing the Orientation T-shirt enjoyed the game of the ‘Check in at MPU’, which encouraged students to become familiar with the campus environment and build up a full sense of belonging. A freshman student majoring in Chinese-Portuguese Translation said that she hoped the four years of studies in MPU will help her to continually improve herself, and will strengthen her skills and level of Portuguese in order to build up a solid foundation for her development in the Greater Bay Area in the future.

MPU has always been dedicated to making a platform for youths to better integrate into the overall development of the country, creating conditions to promote the professional development of youths. To this end, the Student Affairs Office has been organising a series of rich activities to develop students’ potential and enrich their learning experiences so as to cultivate love for the country and Macao and to encourage students to undertake the role of pioneers making contributions to the development of Macao and the country, as well as the construction of the Guangdong-Macao In-Depth Cooperation Zone in Hengqin.
