Five students from the MFDA program took part in a workshop conducted by Professor W.M. To on 3 May 2024. The workshop took place in Computer Room A211 from 14:30 to 16:00.

Professor W.M. To began by explaining the concepts of academic indexing databases and academic full-text databases. He highlighted that academic indexing databases like Scopus and the Web of Science help researchers locate relevant academic publications more efficiently. Moreover, academic publishers such as Emerald and Elsevier have developed their own academic full-text databases, allowing researchers to access full-text articles based on their university’s subscription. In the field of business and management, the MPU Library provides users with partial access to articles available through Emerald Insight and ScienceDirect (by Elsevier). Professor W.M. To guided the students on how to utilize the “Basic Search” and “Advanced Search” functions in Emerald Insight (and Scopus) to find articles of interest. The students not only gained theoretical knowledge but also had the opportunity to put it into practice. They performed literature search exercises using the MPU Library databases, gaining valuable practical experience in the process.
