International Forum on Portuguese as a Foreign Language in China
As one of the major academic events on Portuguese language teaching in China, the International Forum on Portuguese as a Foreign Language in China has been successfully held for five sessions, and each forum is hosted or co-organized by Macao Polytechnic University. The first forum was held at Beijing Foreign Studies University in 2011; the second forum at Macao Polytechnic University in 2013; the last three at Shanghai International Studies University in 2015, Communication University of China in 2017 and Guangdong University of Foreign Studies in 2019.
By holding the International Forum on Portuguese as a Foreign Language in China, the Centre hopes to strengthen cooperation with higher education institutions in mainland China that offer Portuguese programs, promote the construction of Portuguese professional courses and classroom teaching research, and exchange the latest achievements on Portuguese language, culture and country studies. It provides a platform for the teaching and scientific research development of young teachers majoring in Portuguese language teaching.
