Since 2021/2022 Semester I, Professor K Louise Barriball has been the external examiner of the programme of Bachelor of Science in Nursing. 

Professor K Louise Barriball is RN, PhD, FHEA, Professor with her first degree in Social Anthropology and Public Policy and Administration, completing her PhD studies at King’s College London. 

Professor K Louise Barriball has held several senior leadership roles: i) currently as Dean at the School of Nursing and Midwifery at London South Bank University; ii) as Vice Dean (Education) at King’s College London between 2015-2022; iii) as Head of Department in 2007 (Primary & Intermediate Care); and as Head of Department for Adult Nursing in 2011.

Professor K Louise Barriball has collaborated nationally and internationally on research, institutional reviews, and policy development initiatives. She is passionate about the contribution higher education makes to transforming lives for individuals, communities, and society through education, research, service, and partnership. She published extensively on three interrelated areas: i) the nursing workforce: role development and job satisfaction; ii) the working lives of nurse teachers; and iii) the evaluation of education and the learning experience. Since 2020 an additional focus has been on the experiences of nurses and nursing leadership responses to the pandemic. 

Professor K Louise Barriball has extensive experience in quality assurance and external examiner. She has been a member of internal review panels for the School of Health and Social Science, University of Edinburgh, Scotland; Faculty of Nursing, University of Alberta, Canada; and School of Health Sciences, Waterford Institute of Technology, Ireland; and chair of the re-validation panel for a joint BSc Nursing programme between Cardiff University and Oman. Professor K Louise has also been appointed as an External Examiner for many UK and overseas institutions.
