It seems as if I had dreamed a sweet but short dream in Melbourne for 3 weeks, and I couldn’t even believe how time flies swiftly, which I have already left that amazing place for one month. To be frank, this was my first time to leave far away from home and settle myself into a complete English-speaking ambiance since living with locals. My horizon was totally broadened, that’s because I saw something different that I have never experienced. There is something very interesting that I cannot help to share with you. One thing which impresses me a lot is the pedestrians must push the indicator button before they cross the street, if not, they may wait forever. Another thing which shocks me extremely is the shopping malls close at an early time, most of them shut the door at 6pm. It is just like thunderbolts out of a clear sky for girls like us who are fond of going shopping.

As a business student, I figure overseas study activity offers a valuable and useful opportunity for us to learn commerce in another way. The courses that we got involved consisted of business etiquette, cultural differences and visiting different enterprises in practice. In the meantime, students are “forced” to express their opinions in English because we have presentations nearly every single day. However, as far as I am concerned, to some extent, I am appreciated since I really can see progress in my spoken English because of that constant training.

In addition, the most wonderful memory in Melbourne was making friends and spending rosy time together with them during these 3 weeks. On the one hand, we didn’t even know what some of our own classmates’ name were before we had left for Australia because all of us are from different schools. But as the time went by our friendship was growing firmly and it felt like as if we were a big family. On the other hand, I felt quite lucky and glad to meet a number of friendly Japanese friends. We shared our opinions about cultural differences between China and Japan and I was very surprised to find many of them had a deep understanding about Chinese literature. Although the moment we spent with each other was very short, our friendship was still quite firm and precious. And I believe distance cannot be a barrier for our friendship because we can keep in touch via Facebook with them even we back home in September.

Apart from those, the rest of my experience in this charming city was colorful and rich. Every day I spent here was meaningful and gladsome. We visited to many sightseeing spots such as Great Ocean Road, Mount Dandenong, Melbourne zoo and St. Kilda beach.

Up to now, I cannot forget how excited I am when I received the email to know I was chosen to be a member of global professional program. I want to give a big acknowledgment to my dear sponsor - Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI): thank you for offering me such a valuable chance to broaden my horizon. All of these experiences and memories will become my precious fortune.
