Abstract

This study innovate an instructional material in teaching Linear Programming to doctorate students in science education major in mathematics during the summer of 2018. This was conducted to nineteen students officially enrolled at Bukidnon State University. The development process utilized the ADDIE Model which started from the needs analysis, design, development, implementation and evaluation. It also measured the effectiveness of the developed material using quasi-experimental design with one sample t-test as the statistical tool used setting the mastery level at 75%. Results revealed that the material is effective as evidenced by the positive t-score implying higher mastery level of the students. This result was validated by the reflection of the students that learning becomes easier and interesting because of the hands-on activities and the integration of ICT in the learning process coupled with relating mathematics as a tool used in real life situation. Activities like formulation of Linear Programming (LP) Models from the different problem situations gathered through interviews conducted from stakeholders like farmers, businessmen, bankers, politicians, educators developed the communication, collaboration, creativity, and critical thinking skills of the students.
