QA system for teaching & learning.
Sharing practices of two Higher Educational Institutions of Pakistan and role of Quality Enhancement cells

In this paper QA systems being practiced in two HEI’s ; a business school and a medical school, are reviewed. The business school is trying to have different rigor for its Bachelor’s and Master’s program by using capstone projects. Engagement, Impact & Innovation and strategic initiatives with SMART objectives for each program are the way forward.

The medical school’s QA strength lies in its ‘Problem Based Learning’ approach and computer assisted learning programs. Case based sessions also add to improvement.

Quality Enhancement Cells (QECs), which are a mandatory requirement of the Higher Education Commission of Pakistan, are supporting arms in every higher education institution and help in the assessment of laid down criteria, namely: Program Mission Statements, Objectives and Outcomes, Curriculum Design, Process Control, Student Counseling and Feedback Analysis. This helps in quality enhancement. QEC’s are rated biannually by HEC.
