Student Voice in the Quality Assurance Processes for a University-wide Language Enhancement Programme:
From Student Involvement to Student Engagement

In response to the 3+3+4 education reform in Hong Kong, a three-year English language enhancement programme has been launched to serve around 10, 000 undergraduates at a local university since 2012. Alongside it, a comprehensive quality assurance mechanism with student-centred processes has also been put in place. This paper outlines the said quality assurance framework and highlights how student voice has interacted with the offering department and teaching staff to ensure the quality of the programme and corresponding learning experiences. It also underscores how ongoing student engagement in the process has led to timely programme improvement that addresses learners’ needs.
