MPU Badminton Team Wins Four Golds and One Silver in the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships Co-organised by the Badminton Federation of Macau and Wynn Macau, the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships was held successfully. The Macao Polytechnic University Badminton Team demonstrated outstanding individual strength as well as stable teamwork, winning the championships in Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. They also won the first runner-up in Mixed Doubles, achieving great success.
MPU, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports organizes "Scientific Report on Advancement in the Diagnosis and Treatment of drug resistance in ovarian cancer" To accompany the development of biomedical technology and the nursing profession, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports of the Macao Polytechnic University organized a scientific report on "Advancements in Diagnosis and Treatment of Drug resistance in Ovarian Cancer", inviting Dr. Zou Dongling, Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Center/Organ Translational Research Laboratory at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Chongqing University, as the guest speaker. The lecture attracted 160 students and faculty members from Macao Polytechnic University, and received a warm response.
MPU Swimming Team won 31 Medals in the Macao University Student Swimming Championships The 2023-2024 Macao University Student Swimming Championships, organised by the Macau Universitarian Sports Association, was successfully held recently. The Macao Polytechnic University Swimming Team fought hard in several individual races and relays with outstanding performance and impeccable teamwork, and eventually won a total of 31 medals, including 10 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals. This encouraging result demonstrated the team’s training efforts.
MPU's 2024 Open Day showcased outstanding teaching and research achievements with enthusiastic response The “Macao Polytechnic University Open Day 2024” was held on 6 January and has showcased the characteristics of the University’s educational approach, information on degree programmes, achievements in teaching and research, social services, and achievements as a result of international cooperation. This was done through a series of activities such as degree programme seminars, guidance sessions for further studies, thematic exhibitions, campus tours, workshops, experiential sessions as well as exchange sessions with graduates. The Open Day has attracted nearly 3000 participants, including recent high school graduates, elites, students and parents, making a very lively event.
MPU Holds Gold Medalist Athletes Sharing Session to Spread Positive Energy Macao Polytechnic University held the "Gold Medal Athletes Sharing: From Macao Polytechnic University to World Champions" at the Lecture Theatre in Wui Chi Building on November 29th. The event brought together numerous gold medal-winning students and alumni from international competitions such as the Asian Games, World University Games, Student Games of the People’s Republic of China, and World Wushu Championships, to share their journeys towards achieving their dreams. The event attracted nearly 200 students and staff from MPU.
Congratulations to MPU Student Wong Weng Ian for Winning the First Gold Medal in the University Division of the First Student (Youth) Games of the People’s Republic of China On 6th November, during the Wushu event taking place at the Guangxi Sports Center, Wong Weng Ian, a Bachelor of Physical Education student at Macao Polytechnic University, showcased her excellent skills in the women’s optional qiangshu competition. With a score of 9.663, she claimed the first gold medal for the Macao Wushu team and the second gold medal for the Macao delegation, bringing honour to both Macao and Macao Polytechnic University. Wong Weng Ian expressed her gratitude for the support from Macao Polytechnic University.
Congratulations to MPU Student Fong Man Hou for Winning the Silver Medal of Karate Men’s Team Kata at the 19^th Asian Games! Fong Man Hou, a student of the Bachelor of Physical Education Programme, won a silver medal for his outstanding performance in the Karate Men’s Team Kata event at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou on October 8th. This achievement brings more glory to Macao on the final day of the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Professor Im Sio Kei, the Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, congratulated Fong Man Hou for his silver medal and commended him, as well as all the student and graduate athletes, for setting an excellent example by demonstrating a positive and courageous spirit in the Games. MPU will continue to support the sports development and competitions of its students, bringing honour and vitality to Macao and the university.
Congratulations to MPU Graduate Huang Junhua for Winning the Bronze medal in the Men’s Nanquan & Nangun All-Round at the 19^th Asian Games On September 26, Mr. Huang Junhua, a graduate of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) with a Master of Science in Sports and Physical Education in 2021 and a Bachelor of Physical Education in 2017, won the bronze medal in the men's Nanquan & Nangun All-Round event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. He achieved a score of 19.463, bringing glory to Macao. Professor Im Sio Kei, the Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, congratulated Mr. Huang for his outstanding performance on the international stage and praised him for setting a good example by demonstrating the positive and competitive spirit of the MPU students. In response, Mr. Huang expressed the gratitude to his alma mater for their support, care, and encouragement, and will continue to strive for success.
Congratulations to MPU Graduate Li Yi for Winning the Macao’s first gold medal in the Women’s Changquan at the 19^th Asian Games On September 25, Ms. Li Yi, a graduate of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU), won the gold medal in the women’s Changquan event with a score of 9.786, securing the first gold medal for the Macao Sports Delegation in this Asian Games in Hangzhou. Ms. Sou Cho Man, a student of MPU, also achieved the fourth place in this event with her outstanding performance. Both athletes brought glory to Macao, and Li Yi expressed gratitude for the support from her alma mater. Professor Im Sio Kei, Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, enthusiastically congratulated Ms. Li and Ms. Sou for their outstanding performance and praised them along with other MPU athletes for their dedication and competitive spirit in the games. MPU welcomes 2,200 new students at the start of the academic year, the Rector sends a message to inherit the spirit of love for the motherland and for Macao Macao Polytechnic University held the opening ceremony of the 2023/2024 academic year and the first MPU lecture on August 21, to launch a new study journey with 2,200 new students of Bachelor's, Master's and Doctoral programmes from Macao, the Greater Bay Area, all over the country, as well as Portuguese-speaking countries, and regions overseas. MPU Holds 2023 Graduation Ceremony with Over 800 Graduates Embark on a New Journey The Macao Polytechnic University Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2022/2023 was held at 4:00 pm on May 31st at the university's multi-sport pavilion. The national flag was raised and the national anthem was sung at the graduation ceremony. More than 800 students from doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree programs graduated. At the ceremony, honorary doctoral degrees were awarded to individuals who have made outstanding academic achievements and significant contributions to social and educational development. Ms. Ao Ieong U, representative of the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region and chancellor of University Council, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, expressed that the SAR government will continue to support the university's commitment to the education policy of "dual emphasis on teaching and research", cultivate more outstanding talents for Macao and the country, and create better scientific research results.
MPU Awards Scholarships to 600 Outstanding Students The Macao Polytechnic University held the 2023 Scholarship Award Ceremony at the University Auditorium on April 22. Scholarships were awarded to 600 outstanding students to recognise their excellent achievements in different academic and professional fields, and to encourage students to continue to strive for academic excellence and motivation. MPU aims to cultivate young leaders who are creative and competitive with an international perspective to contribute to the country.
MPU 2023 Information Day Showcased Diverse Teaching and Research Achievements and Received Overwhelmingly Positive Reactions Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) successfully held its hybrid 2023 Information Day on 22 April. Through a series of programmes and studies consultation booths, academic research experiences, sharing sessions, thematic exhibitions, and performances by students from Portuguese-speaking countries, it showcased MPU’s characteristics, programme information, as well as the latest research results to the community. Prospective secondary school graduates, secondary school students, their parents and the public were attracted to participate, and the response has been enthusiastic.

MPU Student Cheang Wai Hun Wins Glory for Macao by Breaking the World Record for Single-arm Pull-ups Cheang Wai Hun, a student of the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports of the Macao Polytechnic University, has won glory for Macao by breaking the Guinness World Record for the most single-arm pull-ups in one minute.
MPU Students Rank First by Winning 12 Gold Medals in the 2022-2023 Macao University Athletics Championship Organised by the Macao University Sports Association and co-sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau, the “2022-2023 Macao University Athletics Championship” was held recently and the Athletics Team of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) won a total of 39 medals in more than 20 events: 12 gold, 14 silver and 13 bronze medals, thereby ranking first among all universities in Macao.

MPU Students Won One Gold, One Silver and Two Bronzes at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships Macao Polytechnic University students Wong Weng Ian and Kuong Chi Hin represented the Macao SAR and competed at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) held on 2-10 December 2022 in Indonesia. With their excellent technical performance, these two young athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Wong Weng Ian triumphed in the Female Spear Event with the highest score of 9.169, and thus won a gold medal, the second gold for the Macao team at this championship. She also won two bronzes at Swords and Long Fist events. Kuong Chi Hin won a sliver for Macao in the Male Swords Event.
MPU Wins 14 Gold Medals in the 45th Inter-School Athletics Competition The MPU track and field team sparkled in the “2021-2022 Macao University Students Athletics Championship” and won 14 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals, bringing home the highest total of 39 medals among all teams. The event was organised by Macau Universitarian Sports Association and sponsored by the Education and Youth Development Bureau of Macao.

MPI students experience the charm of traditional Chinese martial arts In order to promote the Chinese traditional culture, the Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic Institute has organised series of activities to enhance students’ Chinese traditional culture experience. As a start, MPI invited the Tai Chi world champion, head master of Wushu General Association of Macao, as well as a current student of the Master of Science in Sports and Physical Education Programme of MPI, Mr Iao Chon In to teach the essence of Chinese martial arts, which enabled students to experience the depth of Chinese martial arts and learn about the long history, so as to enhance students’ interest in Chinese culture.
Participation in International Online Conference of “New Life in New Normal in COVID-19” On June 29, the Nursing teachers and students of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) participated in an online international conference organized by the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Teachers and students from 14 universities worldwide discussed challenges and opportunities of nursing during the COVID-19 pandemic. The conference included information exchange and emotional communication to broaden their views and actively prepare for the next step of anti-epidemic work.

MPI Students Benefit from Participating in the Greater Bay Area Nurse Camp During summer vacation, the School of Health Sciences and Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), and the Sun Yat-Sen University (SYSU) co-organised the "2018 Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Summer Nurse Camp" with the theme of "Learn Lingnan Culture, Discover the Essence of Nursing". Approximately 20 MPI students, together with students from China and Hong Kong, gathered at SYSU in Guangzhou to participate in the 2-week nurse camp.

Successful Academic Review for MPI’s Bachelor of Science programmes in Biomedical Technology (Medical Laboratory Technology & Pharmacy Technology) MPI’s Bachelor of Science programme in Biomedical Technology (Medical Laboratory Technology) and Bachelor of Science programme in Biomedical Technology (Pharmacy Technology) have successfully passed an academic review by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES), Portugal. The two programmes are the first degree course in Macao to be academically accredited in the area of medical laboratory technology and pharmacy technology respectively. The A3ES review panel has fully affirmed the efforts and contributions made by faculty members, students and other stakeholders in the two biomedical technology programmes of MPI. It also strengthened the recognition of higher education in Macao.

Master of Physical Education programme opens at MPI to nurture high-calibre professionals in sports research for Macao The opening ceremony of the second cycle of the Master of Physical Education programme, which is jointly organised by the Shanghai University of Sport and Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), was held at MPI in the afternoon of 22 September. The ceremony was officiated by Professor Im Sio Kei, Vice President of MPI and Professor Zhao Xiaohan, Secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Physical Education and Sport Training, Shanghai University of Sport (SUS). The officiating guests encouraged new students to work hard in their studies, thereby advancing the research in sport sciences and becoming high-calibre professionals who can contribute to the society with their application-based knowledge in this field.

Nurturing World Champion Martial Arts Athletes, MPI’s Bachelor of Physical Education Successfully Accredited by HEEACT The Bachelor of Physical Education of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), has successfully passed a programme validation exercise by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT), being the first bachelor degree programme in Macao to undergo an academic review for such sports professionals. HEEACT, a renowned academic accreditation institution in Asia, is a member of the Asia Pacific Quality Network and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. Announcing the review report on its website, HEEACT provides very positive comments on the programme and acknowledges the programme content, teaching quality, learning environment for students and the support mechanisms of teaching and learning at MPI.
MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme being the world’s first to receive its successful International Subject Review from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK The internationally prominent Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK announced on its website on 7th March 2017 that MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme (Undergraduate Nursing) meets all the standards and successfully achieved the International Subject Review conducted by QAA. The approach of judgment and review criteria were reported to be the same for some of the best UK universities such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. MPI has achieved “confidence” for the first internationally recognised institutional review in 2014, which was conducted by QAA in Macao. Similarly, MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme has been the world’s first successful International Subject Review by QAA.

MPI organises science summer camp for secondary students Over 40 senior secondary students from more than ten schools in Macao participated in the “MPI Science Summer Camp 2016” organised by Macao Polytechnic Institute’s School of Health Sciences from 4th to 7th July. Two MPI Alumni Win 1^st Runner Up at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016 IAAF Gold Label Road Race, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016, was held on 17^th January 2016, the tournament attracting more than 74,000 entrants from around the world. Among the team representing Macao Polytechnic Institute alumnus Wang Kun was 1st runner up in the Half Marathon Challenge Men’s Overall and Men’s Senior Category while alumnus Iao Kuan Un won 1^st runner up in the Men’s Master category, their achievements bringing great honour to MPI and Macao.

MPI Alumna Hoi Long’s Historic Bronze Medal Win in the Aquathlon World Championships Brings Great Honour to MPI and Macao MPI Alumna Hoi Long has won a bronze medal in the Aquathlon World Championships (swimming and running) in the ‘Elite Woman Category’ with a total time of 30 minutes 8 seconds, at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Grand Final and World Championships held in Chicago. It was the first time for Hoi Long to participate in this international competition and MPI expressed great appreciation and warmest congratulations on hearing of her outstanding achievement.

The students and alumni of MPI participated in the Incheon Asian Games in sports including Wushu, Karate, Judo, Swimming, Triathlon, Athletics, Diving, and Road Cycling. Amongst others Jia Rui, an MPI alumnus, brought home a silver medal in the men’s Changquan final, Paula Cristina Pereira Carion, an MPI alumna, won a bronze medal in Women's Kumite +68 kg, Li Yi and Huang Junhua, students of MPI, respectively won the silver medals in the women’s Jianshu/Qiangshu all-round and the men’s Nanquan/Nangun all-round (martial arts events).

MPU Badminton Team Wins Four Golds and One Silver in the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships

Co-organised by the Badminton Federation of Macau and Wynn Macau, the 2024 Macao Open Badminton Championships was held successfully. The Macao Polytechnic University Badminton Team demonstrated outstanding individual strength as well as stable teamwork, winning the championships in Women's Singles, Women's Doubles, Men's Doubles and Mixed Doubles. They also won the first runner-up in Mixed Doubles, achieving great success.

MPU, Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports organizes "Scientific Report on Advancement in the Diagnosis and Treatment of drug resistance in ovarian cancer"

To accompany the development of biomedical technology and the nursing profession, the Faculty of Health Sciences and Sports of the Macao Polytechnic University organized a scientific report on "Advancements in Diagnosis and Treatment of Drug resistance in Ovarian Cancer", inviting Dr. Zou Dongling, Director of the Gynecologic Oncology Center/Organ Translational Research Laboratory at the Affiliated Tumor Hospital of Chongqing University, as the guest speaker. The lecture attracted 160 students and faculty members from Macao Polytechnic University, and received a warm response.

MPU Swimming Team won 31 Medals in the Macao University Student Swimming Championships

The 2023-2024 Macao University Student Swimming Championships, organised by the Macau Universitarian Sports Association, was successfully held recently. The Macao Polytechnic University Swimming Team fought hard in several individual races and relays with outstanding performance and impeccable teamwork, and eventually won a total of 31 medals, including 10 gold, 10 silver, and 11 bronze medals. This encouraging result demonstrated the team’s training efforts.

MPU's 2024 Open Day showcased outstanding teaching and research achievements with enthusiastic response

The “Macao Polytechnic University Open Day 2024” was held on 6 January and has showcased the characteristics of the University’s educational approach, information on degree programmes, achievements in teaching and research, social services, and achievements as a result of international cooperation. This was done through a series of activities such as degree programme seminars, guidance sessions for further studies, thematic exhibitions, campus tours, workshops, experiential sessions as well as exchange sessions with graduates. The Open Day has attracted nearly 3000 participants, including recent high school graduates, elites, students and parents, making a very lively event.

MPU Holds Gold Medalist Athletes Sharing Session to Spread Positive Energy

Macao Polytechnic University held the "Gold Medal Athletes Sharing: From Macao Polytechnic University to World Champions" at the Lecture Theatre in Wui Chi Building on November 29th. The event brought together numerous gold medal-winning students and alumni from international competitions such as the Asian Games, World University Games, Student Games of the People’s Republic of China, and World Wushu Championships, to share their journeys towards achieving their dreams. The event attracted nearly 200 students and staff from MPU.

On 6th November, during the Wushu event taking place at the Guangxi Sports Center, Wong Weng Ian, a Bachelor of Physical Education student at Macao Polytechnic University, showcased her excellent skills in the women’s optional qiangshu competition. With a score of 9.663, she claimed the first gold medal for the Macao Wushu team and the second gold medal for the Macao delegation, bringing honour to both Macao and Macao Polytechnic University. Wong Weng Ian expressed her gratitude for the support from Macao Polytechnic University.

Congratulations to MPU Student Fong Man Hou for Winning the Silver Medal of Karate Men’s Team Kata at the 19^th Asian Games!

Fong Man Hou, a student of the Bachelor of Physical Education Programme, won a silver medal for his outstanding performance in the Karate Men’s Team Kata event at the 19th Asian Games held in Hangzhou on October 8th. This achievement brings more glory to Macao on the final day of the Asian Games in Hangzhou. Professor Im Sio Kei, the Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, congratulated Fong Man Hou for his silver medal and commended him, as well as all the student and graduate athletes, for setting an excellent example by demonstrating a positive and courageous spirit in the Games. MPU will continue to support the sports development and competitions of its students, bringing honour and vitality to Macao and the university.

Congratulations to MPU Graduate Huang Junhua for Winning the Bronze medal in the Men’s Nanquan & Nangun All-Round at the 19^th Asian Games

On September 26, Mr. Huang Junhua, a graduate of Macao Polytechnic University (MPU) with a Master of Science in Sports and Physical Education in 2021 and a Bachelor of Physical Education in 2017, won the bronze medal in the men's Nanquan & Nangun All-Round event at the Asian Games in Hangzhou. He achieved a score of 19.463, bringing glory to Macao. Professor Im Sio Kei, the Rector of Macao Polytechnic University, congratulated Mr. Huang for his outstanding performance on the international stage and praised him for setting a good example by demonstrating the positive and competitive spirit of the MPU students. MPU Holds 2023 Graduation Ceremony with Over 800 Graduates Embark on a New Journey

The Macao Polytechnic University Graduation Ceremony for Academic Year 2022/2023 was held at 4:00 pm on May 31st at the university's multi-sport pavilion. The national flag was raised and the national anthem was sung at the graduation ceremony. More than 800 students from doctoral, master's and bachelor's degree programs graduated. At the ceremony, honorary doctoral degrees were awarded to individuals who have made outstanding academic achievements and significant contributions to social and educational development. Ms. Ao Ieong U, representative of the Chief Executive of the Macao Special Administrative Region and chancellor of University Council, the Secretary for Social Affairs and Culture, expressed that the SAR government will continue to support the university's commitment to the education policy of "dual emphasis on teaching and research", cultivate more outstanding talents for Macao and the country, and create better scientific research results.

MPU Students Won One Gold, One Silver and Two Bronzes at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships

Macao Polytechnic University students Wong Weng Ian and Kuong Chi Hin represented the Macao SAR and competed at the 8th World Junior Wushu Championships (WJWC) held on 2-10 December 2022 in Indonesia. With their excellent technical performance, these two young athletes won one gold, one silver and two bronze medals. Wong Weng Ian triumphed in the Female Spear Event with the highest score of 9.169, and thus won a gold medal, the second gold for the Macao team at this championship. She also won two bronzes at Swords and Long Fist events. Kuong Chi Hin won a sliver for Macao in the Male Swords Event.

MPU Wins 14 Gold Medals in the 45th Inter-School Athletics Competition

The MPU track and field team sparkled in the “2021-2022 Macao University Students Athletics Championship” and won 14 gold, 13 silver and 12 bronze medals, bringing home the highest total of 39 medals among all teams. MPI students experience the charm of traditional Chinese martial arts

In order to promote the Chinese traditional culture, the Student Affairs Office of the Macao Polytechnic Institute has organised series of activities to enhance students’ Chinese traditional culture experience. On June 29, the Nursing teachers and students of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) participated in an online international conference organized by the Faculty of Nursing, Chiang Mai University, Thailand. Successful Academic Review for MPI’s Bachelor of Science programmes in Biomedical Technology (Medical Laboratory Technology & Pharmacy Technology)

MPI’s Bachelor of Science programme in Biomedical Technology (Medical Laboratory Technology) and Bachelor of Science programme in Biomedical Technology (Pharmacy Technology) have successfully passed an academic review by the Agency for Assessment and Accreditation of Higher Education (A3ES), Portugal. The two programmes are the first degree course in Macao to be academically accredited in the area of medical laboratory technology and pharmacy technology respectively. The A3ES review panel has fully affirmed the efforts and contributions made by faculty members, students and other stakeholders in the two biomedical technology programmes of MPI. It also strengthened the recognition of higher education in Macao.

Nurturing World Champion Martial Arts Athletes, MPI’s Bachelor of Physical Education Successfully Accredited by HEEACT

The Bachelor of Physical Education of the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI), has successfully passed a programme validation exercise by the Higher Education Evaluation and Accreditation Council of Taiwan (HEEACT), being the first bachelor degree programme in Macao to undergo an academic review for such sports professionals. HEEACT, a renowned academic accreditation institution in Asia, is a member of the Asia Pacific Quality Network and the International Network for Quality Assurance Agencies in Higher Education. Announcing the review report on its website, HEEACT provides very positive comments on the programme and acknowledges the programme content, teaching quality, learning environment for students and the support mechanisms of teaching and learning at MPI.

MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme being the world’s first to receive its successful International Subject Review from the Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK

The internationally prominent Quality Assurance Agency for Higher Education (QAA), UK announced on its website on 7th March 2017 that MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme (Undergraduate Nursing) meets all the standards and successfully achieved the International Subject Review conducted by QAA. The approach of judgment and review criteria were reported to be the same for some of the best UK universities such as the University of Cambridge and the University of Oxford. MPI has achieved “confidence” for the first internationally recognised institutional review in 2014, which was conducted by QAA in Macao. Similarly, MPI’s Bachelor of Science in Nursing Programme has been the world’s first successful International Subject Review by QAA.

Two MPI Alumni Win 1^st Runner Up at the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016

IAAF Gold Label Road Race, the Standard Chartered Hong Kong Marathon 2016, was held on 17^th January 2016, the tournament attracting more than 74,000 entrants from around the world. Among the team representing Macao Polytechnic Institute alumnus Wang Kun was 1st runner up in the Half Marathon Challenge Men’s Overall and Men’s Senior Category while alumnus Iao Kuan Un won 1^st runner up in the Men’s Master category, their achievements bringing great honour to MPI and Macao.

MPI Alumni with Outstanding Achievements in “Macao International Marathon”

Alumni Kuok Chi Wai and Hoi Long Achieve 1st Place in “Macao International Marathon” (Macau Athletes – Male & Female Category)

MPI Alumna Hoi Long’s Historic Bronze Medal Win in the Aquathlon World Championships Brings Great Honour to MPI and Macao

MPI Alumna Hoi Long has won a bronze medal in the Aquathlon World Championships (swimming and running) in the ‘Elite Woman Category’ with a total time of 30 minutes 8 seconds, at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Grand Final and World Championships held in Chicago. It was the first time for Hoi Long to participate in this international competition and MPI expressed great appreciation and warmest congratulations on hearing of her outstanding achievement.

MPI Commends and Celebrates Students and Alumni for their Outstanding Performances at Incheon Asian Games and Encourages them to Continue with their Excellent Run for Macao

To commend and celebrate students and alumni for their outstanding performance at the 17th Incheon Asian Games 2014,the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) organized a celebration gathering. The students and alumni of MPI participated in the Incheon Asian Games in sports including Wushu, Karate, Judo, Swimming, Triathlon, Athletics, Diving, and Road Cycling. Amongst others Jia Rui, an MPI alumnus, brought home a silver medal in the men’s Changquan final, Paula Cristina Pereira Carion, an MPI alumna, won a bronze medal in Women's Kumite +68 kg, Li Yi and Huang Junhua, students of MPI, respectively won the silver medals in the women’s Jianshu/Qiangshu all-round and the men’s Nanquan/Nangun all-round (martial arts events).

MPI Students and Alumni Triumph at Incheon Asian Games

The students and alumni of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) who have just competed at the 17th Asian Games currently held in Incheon, South Korea returned to Macao last night (25 September 2014) with their medals and outstanding accomplishments. An MPI delegation led by Vice President Professor Yin Lei received them at the airport and extended their heartfelt congratulations on their brilliant performances, filling the airport lobby with joy and tears.

MPI’s Wang Kuan wins Hong Kong Marathon

Our student Wang Kun won championship in the Hong Kong Standard Chartered Half Marathon Challenge Men’s Overall and Men’s Senior Category in 1:09:08.
