MPI Alumna Hoi Long has won a bronze medal in the Aquathlon World Championships (swimming and running) in the 'Elite Woman Category' with a total time of 30 minutes 8 seconds, at the International Triathlon Union (ITU) World Triathlon Grand Final and World Championships held in Chicago. It was the first time for Hoi Long to participate in this international competition and MPI expressed great appreciation and warmest congratulations on hearing of her outstanding achievement.

A graduate of MPI, and holding a master's degree in 'Sports Social Science' jointly organized by Beijing Sports University and MPI, Hoi Long fell in love with the triathlon during her college time. She insisted on training during her spare time and has represented Macao in many competitions, such as the 2006 Doha Asian Games, the 2010 Guangzhou Asian Games and 2014 Incheon Asian Games, achieving good results and bringing great honour to MPI and Macao. She has also been repeatedly selected as an "Outstanding Athlete of Macao" and was awarded the Macao SAR Government Sports Merit Medal in 2011.

In the Aquathlon World Championships Hoi Long's swimming and running record were 10 minutes 04 seconds and 17 minutes 49 seconds respectively. After winning the bronze medal, Hoi Long proclaimed inspiring words on social networks: "I'm proud to say I COME FROM MACAO!). MPI expressed the hope that she would continue to persevere with her exceptional talents and bring further honour to Macao.
