To celebrate the 71^st Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 21^st Anniversary of the establishment of Macao SAR, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute has recently organised the “Love Family ‧ Love Country” Photography Contest.  The aim of the contest is to let students express their feelings towards their home and country with photos showing the theme of “Love Our Home ･ Love Our Country”, to demonstrate Macao's integration into the overall development of the country, to show how Macao and China are closely-knit together to create a whole new phase of development.  Moreover, it is also hoped that through this activity, students’ sense of belonging and participation in the country and society will be enhanced, so as to consolidate their concepts of the country and to uphold the tradition of “Love China ･ Love Macao”. 

Students were very enthusiastic about the contest; from the entries, judges selected the winners according to the criteria of their manifestation of the theme, their photo-taking techniques and composition of the picture, the ideas shown in the photo and their description of it.  Wu Jiajing, year 1 student of the Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art, won the first prize, Liu Fengyu, year 3 student of the Bachelor of Science in Computing, was awarded the second prize, and Ng Sio Ieng, year 3 student of the Bachelor of Arts in Portuguese Language, received the third prize.  Each winning piece fully displays their love towards their home and country, expresses admiration for the prosperity of China, gives thanks for China’s love and support to Macao, and wishes China an eternity of prosperity and peace. 

The organiser of the contest, the Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute, has always fostered students’ sentiment on “Love China ･ Love Macao”.  2020 was the year of the 71^st Anniversary of the founding of the People's Republic of China and the 21^st Anniversary of the establishment of the Macao SAR; activities like the “Online Race – Celebrating National Day with MPI Friends” were held earlier to cultivate youngsters’ national sentiment and to strengthen their sense of national identity.  It is hoped that through these activities, students will inherit the core values of “Love China ･ Love Macao”, increase their social participation and encourage their active integration into the overall development of the country, so as to contribute to the prosperity and stability of China.
