“The 12th Higher Education International Conference” of MPI is Now Calling for Paper Submissions

To strengthen the cooperation between Macao and higher education institutions from overseas, and continue to improve the quality of teaching and learning in higher education, the Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and the Asia Pacific Quality Network (APQN) are jointly organising “The 12th Higher Education International Conference on Teaching and Learning Quality Assurance in Higher Education under the Pandemic”. The conference focuses on the challenges and future development of higher education under the pandemic and offers an exchange platform for Macao and higher education assurance agencies and well-known scholars from around the world. The conference calls for papers from now to October 18. Higher education experts and scholars from Macao and all over the world are welcome to take part in and publish papers in fields related to the conference theme.

The “Higher Education International Conference” has been organised by MPI since 2009. This is the sixth time an international conference focusing on the Asia-Pacific region has been jointly organised with APQN. In response to the impact of the novel coronavirus pneumonia epidemic, higher education institutions around the world have rapidly transformed traditional face-to-face teaching into online teaching on a large scale. The change in teaching mode will directly affect the future development trend of higher education. This year’s conference, focusing on the theme of “teaching and learning quality assurance in higher education under the pandemic”, will be held online from 25 to 26 November 2020. The conference aims to discuss various factors affecting the quality of teaching and learning under the pandemic from a broader perspective. Related topics include: opportunities and challenges of online education; educational response mechanisms in the global crisis; higher education institutions’ curriculum adjustment to meet the needs of emerging industries; the future of education on quality assurance for online education; flexible teaching and learning at higher education institutions under the pandemic -- how to ensure high-quality higher education; quality assurance of teaching in the context of “Internet + education”; the problem of how to assess the effectiveness of students’ online learning; teachers’ professional development under the trend of online education; the impact of the epidemic on the international movement of students, etc.

Submitted papers will be reviewed according to their relevance (to the conference theme), originality, and clarity. Accepted papers will be invited for presentation during the online conference. The call for papers for the conference is from now until October 18, and the paper should neither have been published before, nor should it be under consideration for publication elsewhere. Interested parties may fill in the paper submission form on the conference website (http://www.ipm.edu.mo/heconf2020). For inquiries, please call 8599 6531 or 8599 6193.
