Bank of China – Macau Branch Visit MPI

To strengthen communication and collaboration between Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) and local enterprises, Ms Chen Fen, the Director of the Business Management Department, Bank of China - Macau Branch and a delegation visited MPI on December 7th receiving a warm welcome from Professor Lei Heong Iok, President of MPI and Mr. Wong U Kei, Chairman of the Board of Directors, MPI Alumni Association. Both parties looked forward to collaborating further in various areas in the future and in contributing to the development of Macao.

During the visit President Lei expressed his gratitude towards Bank of China - Macao Branch for their support and concern about the development of MPI. Bank of China has been providing scholarships to MPI students for many years to encourage students to study hard and put into practice in the future what they have learned. Professor Lei added that both parties share the same development principle - “Rooted in Macao”. Mr. Wong introduced the development of the Alumni Association to the delegation. Ms Chen affirmed the work of MPI in higher education, particularly with respect to the Institute’s contribution in providing local Portuguese speaking professionals. Ms Chen said that our country is actively promoting the “One Belt and One Road” strategy, that Macao should grasp the opportunity, and that they are looking forward to carrying out more cooperative projects in various fields with MPI.

The delegation visited the MPI Library, School of Arts and Cyber Corridor. Along with Ms. Chen, the delegation included Ms. Choi Ieng Chi, Deputy Director of the Business Management Department, Bank of China – Macau Branch, Mr. Cheang Wai Lon, Manager and Ms. Leong I Lam.
