To strengthen the communication and collaboration of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) with local enterprises, Mr. António Ramirez, the Senior Vice President of Human Resources, Sands China Ltd. and his delegation visited MPI on November 26th and received a warm welcome from Professor Lei Heong Iok, President of MPI. The group met members of MPI’s academic and research staff as well as students, both parties discussing student internships and programme collaboration projects. The meeting was both fruitful and warm.

During the meeting Professor Lei expressed his gratitude towards Sands China Ltd. for their support over the preceding years, noting that starting in 2005, over 200 MPI students have since benefited from the Sands China Ltd. Scholarships, our graduates also having been offered employment, training and promotion opportunities by Sands China Ltd.

Mr. Ramirez stated that Sands China Ltd. is very pleased to be working together with MPI to cultivate students to become pillars of society in the future, to support local students and to promote the development of higher education in Macao, and also commended MPI’s excellent teaching environment and facilities, saying that he looked forward to collaborating further in various areas in the future. During the visit, Mr. Ramirez and his delegation visited MPI - Bell English Centre and Cyber Corridor, and were introduced by students from the Bachelor of Science in Computing to their research projects. Along with Mr. Ramirez, the delegation included Ms. Amy Lee, Vice President of Human Resources of Sands China Ltd. and Mr. Lourence Ho, Director of Human Resources, Training and Development.
