Prof. To Wai Ming from the School of Business, has won the third prize in the natural science category of 2014 Science and Technology Research Award. The award winning project, entitled “Air Pollution of the Built Environment”, aimed at exploring the chemical and physical characteristics of air pollutants from commercial and household cooking in the built environment, and the air pollutants emitted indirectly from commercial and residential activities through the use of secondary energy.
Prof. To’s publications were cited in the World Health Organization IARC Monograph and the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC) in assessing health hazard in kitchens. The research findings were published in top SCI journals.
