Article 1 Objective
To encourage students exhibiting outstanding academic
achievement, MPI has established the “Scholarships for Outstanding
Academic Achievement” (hereinafter “scholarship”). |
Article 2 Eligibility
Macao residents who have enrolled on Higher Diploma
Programmes offered by MPI are eligible. At the
end of each academic
year, students with the highest cumulative GPA or the
highest average mark in each programme, and who are
recommended by their School Director, are eligible
for the scholarship.
The list of recommended students will be sent to the
Institute’s Management Board for approval by
the Student Management Office. Students who have been
awarded
scholarships or have received grants from other organizations
are still eligible for the scholarship, provided that
there is no conflict with existing related regulations. |
Article 3 Quota
The quota of scholarships shall depend upon the number
of programmes offered in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd year of
each Higher Diploma programme. In the procedure to determine
eligibility, day and evening class students of each programme
shall be in the same group, but those being taught in
different media of instruction will be in separate groups.
There will be one quota for each programme at each level. |
Article 4 Value of the Scholarship
50% of the annual tuition fees of the programme the recipient
applied for will be discounted, provided that the recipient
has been enrolled on the programme and has submitted
the tuition fee. |
Article 5 Duration of the Scholarship
The Institute will issue the scholarship in the academic
year immediately following the awarding year. However,
if a recipient encounters circumstances as indicated
in Article 6 below during his/her studies, the scholarship
shall be terminated. |
Article 6 Termination of Scholarship
Recipients must study their programme according to
the study plan stipulated in the government’s
gazette, and must be full-time students. If recipients
suspend
or defer their studies or change to part-time mode
half-way through their studies, or fail in any
subjects by the
end of the academic year, their scholarships will be
terminated automatically. Once the scholarship has
been terminated, no re-applications can be accepted.
If the
scholarship amount has already been deducted from the
tuition fee at the time the scholarship is terminated,
the recipient will be required to repay the deducted
amount. Failure to comply with this condition will
lead to the former scholarship recipient being
suspended from
the School. |
Article 7 Others
Any other issues arising which are not specified in
this regulation shall be subject to determination
by the Institute’s
Management Board. |
| Remarks: |
If students in receipt of this
scholarship are also awarded the full scholarship, the
quotas of this scholarship will not be replaced by other
students, but receipt of such scholarships will be recorded.
The highest discount of tuition fee shall be 100%, and
no extra allowance will be given. |
