Introduction
The One Country Two Systems Research Center(CEUPDS) was designated by the Despatch of the Chief Executive No. 218/2008 on 11 August 2008, as an academic research institute with project team nature. Our objective is “to form a reference basis of strategic information relative to ‘One Country, Two Systems’ principle”. Fostering the full implementation of “One Country, Two Systems” and the promotion of administration according to law so as to suit the needs of the development of the Macao SAR is the basic principle that guides our academic activities. Being the very first academic research unit of our kind in Macao, our legal orientation and social function has been very clear. However, in order to adapt to the needs of situation as well as expectations from the society, we are always dependent on the support and cooperation from Macao government and the society. We are firmly committed to fostering the correct understanding and implementation of the Basic Law by means of probing into systematic theory topics, organizing various conferences, conducting social researches and publishing academic journals.
Our current focal issues are: |

To undertake researches on basic theory
and practice of the “one country, two systems” principle; |

To study on significant topics in the Macao SAR. |
| Major Research Tasks |
Meanwhile, the on-going research tasks are: |

Editing and publishing the Academic Journal of One Country Two Systems (quarterly published every January, April, July and October); |

Selecting well-written academic works or monographs for the publications of One Country Two Systems Series;

Organizing academic conferences, and different types of seminars and talks of related topics;

Conducting telephone surveys of various topics occasionally;

— |
Cooperating with local and overseas key university in student training and communication activities, aiming at developing our Center into a big-scaled and influential platform for the researches on the “One Country, Two Systems” policy and the Basic Law.

Prof. Ieong Wan Chong, Chief Research Fellow of Professor Grade, Ph.D. in Law, Ph.D. in Economics, is the Director of CEUPDS and the Chief Editor of the Academic Journal of One Country Two Systems. He has been keen on the study of the “One Country, Two Systems” principle and the Basic Law for decades. His major works include: One Country, Two Systems and Modern Constitutional Study, Macao and the Macao Basic Law, The Interpretation of the Macao Basic Law, The Encyclopedia of Macao, “One Country, Two Systems”: its Implementation in Macao, On the Correct Implementation of “One Country, Two Systems” and On the Macao Implementation Pattern of “One Country, Two Systems”. |

Dr. Wang Yu, Researcher of Associate Professor Grade, obtained his doctorial degree in the Law School of Peking University in 2003. He was an assistant professor, and later an associate professor, in the Law School of Macao University of Science and Technology. His major works include The Study of the Constitutional Spirit of “One Country, Two Systems” and Authorization and Autonomy. |

Dr. Wang Changbin, Researcher of Associate Professor Grade, obtained his doctorial degree in the Law School of Peking University. He was an associate professor in the Law School of Macao University of Science and Technology. |

Ms. Leong Sok Man, Senior Technician (Research), is a Ph.D. student in Sun Yat-sen University. She obtained her master degree in Beijing Normal University in 2007. She was a senior administrative assistant (research) in the Centre for Macau Studies, the University of Macau. |

Ms. Chan Wai Tan, Researcher of Lecturer Grade, is a master of Public Administration in the University of Macau. |

Ms. Ho Man Ieng, Researcher of Lecturer Grade, is a bachelor of Sociology. She obtained her degree in Peking University in 2008. |

Ms. Jau Sui Lie, Administrative Head, is a principal Senior Technician. She obtained her MBA degree in Asia International Open University of Macau in 1998. |
