Programme outline 課程簡介
This 4‐year programme aims at cultivating talents in fields of art and art education. Student are allowed to choose between the majors in Art and Art Education, according to their interests and capabilties. Every year in order to broaden their views, we send over a number of exchange students to Art colleges throughout Asia and arrange several lecture series held by experienced scholars on a regular basis.
Programme objectives 課程目標

In order to strengthen the areas of Fine Arts and Art Education in Macao, the Visual Arts Programme has been revised as a “Bachelor of Arts in Visual Art” (Specialty of Fine Arts/ Specialty of Art Education) commencing September 2010.

This course, emphasising both theory and practice, aims at cultivating talents with Macao and Sino‐Western cultural art features and compound arts, and is run in cooperation with the Central Academy of Fine Arts and Taiwan University of Arts, introducing senior tutors to give lectures. Every year we provide a number of exchange students to Art colleges throughout Asia. We also arrange several seminars by famous artists, as well as sketching sessions outside Macao.

After finishing the first‐year basic course, students must choose not only their optional general subjects, but also study one of the following subjects: Chinese Painting, Oil Painting, Printmaking, Sculpture or Ceramics. Thus, students are not only able to concentrate on a particular specialisation, but can also improve their general creative skills in Art. With regard to the Bachelor of Arts in Art Education, as well as the subjects of Art Theory and History, students are required to undertake teaching practice in primary or secondary school. The Bachelor’s degree will be awarded following final assessment and evaluation by instructors and external reviewers, and the students’ artworks will form part of a public exhibition.
