MPI Orientation Activities
Following the day of the Opening Ceremony for the academic year 2015/2016, an Orientation Camp was organised by the Student Affairs Office to welcome MPI freshmen, enabling all of them to get to know about campus life at MPI through a variety of lively and exciting activities. “Journey to Excellence” was the theme of this year's Orientation Camp, symbolizing college life as a journey on which knowledge and holistic development lead on a road to excellence.
Orientation Camp was held on the morning of 22nd August at MPI Auditorium with over 500 freshmen from the local community and overseas participating. After the opening of the Orientation Camp hosted by the Board of Management and directors from different units, President Prof. Lei Heong Iok represented the Institute in welcoming all freshmen who were joining the MPI family. He encouraged all of them to grasp their opportunities and treasure their time in college, bearing in mind the value of the MPI motto, “Knowledge, Expertise, Global Vision”, and to widen their horizons, persevere with their studies, enhance their whole person development in the future and contribute to society and the country. During the Orientation Camp there were interactive games, humourous dramas, dancing and singing performances, all participants evidently happy and enjoying the event. A “Campus Hunt” was also held in the afternoon.
A series of orientation activities has been organized to introduce all freshmen to campus life, develop their sense of belonging to MPI and help them to get used to their new learning environment, including a Campus Life Talk and Bubble Balloon Game, ‘Gapless Once More’ Volunteer Scheme, Sharing Session with Scholarship Students, Seminar on Career Planning, Seminar entitled ‘How to Get a Job in the Public Sector’, as well as a Briefing for New Mainland Students and Exchange Students.
