Lorenzo Monti

Exchange student from Alma Mater Studiorum-University of Bologna, Italy in the MPI Programme PhD in Computing Applied Technology

I have been to the MPI for the period abroad made available by my Ph.D. in Italy. I worked in the Ubiquitous Computing Research Laboratory under the guidance of the teacher Dr. Rita Tse for 3 months. The collaboration was fruitful and I learned a lot about convolutional neural networks and object recognition. This was a valuable opportunity for my experience as a doctoral student.

Macao is really nice, the weather, the people, the atmosphere. All of them are surely unforgettable for me. I am really happy to have had this experience, both from a learning and personal point of view, so thank you Macao Polytechnic Institute for giving me a precious chance!
