Tuition Fees

  1. Starting from the Academic Year 2009/2010, the tuition fees for degree programmes are as follows:

  2. Starting from the Academic Year 2009/2010, the tuition fees for a 7-semester higher diploma programmes are as follows:

  3. Starting from the Academic Year 2009/2010, the tuition fees for a 3-semester Bachelor Degree (Supplementary) evening programmes are as follows:

  4. The payment of each subject for part-time students is calculated by dividing the total tuition payment by five subjects:

    * Payment for each subject for a part-time student studying in a 6-semester or a 7-semester Higher Diploma Programmes is the same as above.

  5. Local students, whose current position are in-service teachers in Macau and are eligible to study in the Higher Diploma / Bachelor Degree of Visual Arts (Educational), Higher Diploma / Bachelor Degree of Music(Educational) and Higher Diploma / Bachelor Degree of Science in Physical Education and Sport Programmes, have to pay the total amount of the tuition fees in the 1st semester (Year 1), and from the 2nd semester and onwards, students are required to pay according to the following payment scheme. However, students are required to pay the difference when they are disqualified to receive the subsidies from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (DSEJ). (Remark: Application for the Subsidies must conform to the terms and conditions of the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau)

  6. Tuition fee for auditing students are divided into two categories: Auditing students who participate in examinations and have their grades indicated on the academic transcripts or certificate will have to pay the total amount of the tuition fee.

    Mere auditing students will just have to pay 50% of the standard tuition fee.

  7. To encourage students exhibiting outstanding academic achievement, MPI has established the “Scholarships for Excellent New Students of Degree Programmes” (hereinafter “scholarships”). 50% of the annual tuition fees of the programme the recipient applied for will be discounted, provided that the recipient has been enrolled on the programme and has submitted the tuition fee. The institute will issue the scholarship in the academic year immediately following the awarding year. However, if a recipient encounters circumstances as indicated in the Regulation, Article 6 during his/her studies, the scholarship shall be terminated.
  8. To encourage students exhibiting outstanding academic achievement, MPI has established the “Scholarships for Outstanding Academic Achievement” (hereinafter “scholarships”). Honor students who obtain the highest cumulate grade (0-100) or highest average grade (0-20) by the end of each academic year and are recommended by their School Director, will receive a 50% deduction from their tuition fee (the amount of tuition fee is according to the category the student belongs) for the following academic year.
  9. According to the agreement signed with the Macao Sports Development Board, the tuition payment of their staff members who study for the Institute’s Higher Diploma in Physical Education and Sports Program will be waived.
  10. According to the collaborative agreement (supplementary regulation) signed by the Institute with the Asia International Open University (Macao) on the 13 May 2003, full-time staff members of the university who study for the Institute’s Higher Diploma Program or Bachelor supplementary Program are entitled to a 50% tuition deduction.
  11. According to the proposal P022/ESS/2004 of the School of Health Sciences approved by the Management Board, students who take two subjects of which include the graduation thesis and a major subject (including practicum) of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (supplementary) and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Studies (supplementary) Programs are regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of the tuition fee. In addition, students of Higher Diploma in Nursing and Higher Diploma in Biomedical Science who have to retake the practicum subject, with the credits retaken being 15 or above, are also regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of the tuition fee.
  12. In accordance with the proposal P057/DAE/2005 of the Division of Student Affairs approved by the Management Board, students of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) programme (day-time – LD1), who take a subject for 240 hours or 10 credits (1st semester at the 1st year), are regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of the tuition fee. For students of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) program (evening program – LDN1), the costs for each subjects are as follows:

  13. According to the proposal P088/DAMIA/2009 of the Registry, the tuition fee of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) programme (evening program /Chinese – LDN2) is charged on the basis of I073/DAE/2004(item 3). Students of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) programme (day and evening programme), who take a subject for 240 hours or 10 credits, are regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of tuition fee.
  14. In accordance with the proposal P176/DAE/2007, students of the Higher Diploma in Design (Evening / Chinese), who enroll in either one of the subject (AG301 or MA301), will have to pay MOP$6,570.00 (Macao, Chinese Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong Students) and MOP$8,548.00 (Foreign Students).
  15. Referring to the proposal P031/DAMIA/2009 of Registry, students of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) programme (Night /Chinese - LD2), who take a subject of IT401 only, will have to pay MOP$5,785.00 (Macao, Chinese Mainland, Taiwan and Hong Kong Students) and MOP$7,465.00 (Foreign Students).
  16. According to the agreement signed by the Institute with other higher education institutes (which includes Bachelor / Post-Graduate / Master Degree programmes), the application fee for Students Exchange Program shall be waived.

NB:

In case of discrepancy between the Chinese and English version, the Chinese version shall prevail.
