MPI Students Participated in the Peking University Summer School and Studied China's Cultural Development
The Student Affairs Office of Macao Polytechnic Institute (MPI) organised students to participate in a four-week summer school held by Peking University in Beijing during the summer vacation. Courses that can be selected in the Peking University summer school include culture, arts, economics, psychology and language, providing opportunities for MPI students to experience the academic atmosphere of the national top university and the teaching style of outstanding scholars, and to study together with more than 200 students from 23 universities in Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan. MPI students benefitted a great deal from participating in this summer school, which is a programme that facilitates the cultural and academic exchanges among Cross-strait, Hong Kong and Macao.
The summer school began recruiting students from Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan in 2013, to provide pioneering courses taught by internationally renowned professors of Peking University. MPI students took courses in “Cognitive Science and Economics”, “English Public Speaking”, “Interpersonal Communication and Analysis”, “Introduction to the Three Rites”, and cultural courses on different topics. Moreover, Shan Jixiang, the director of the Palace Museum, held a talk on the topic of "Staying Faithful and Becoming the Keeper of Chinese Traditional Culture”, and there was an exclusive “Palace Museum Cultural Tour” arranged for the summer school students. MPI students said that communicating face to face with director Shan Jixiang, and visiting the Palace Museum from an exclusive perspective, made them have a deeper understanding of the Chinese history and culture.
Student Lei of the MPI Physical Education programme said that he learned various types of knowledge from the vivid lectures given by the scholars of Peking University. His sense of national belonging was deepened through participating in the cultural activities arranged by the summer school. Moreover, students from different universities established profound friendships through group discussions and presentations in the classroom. Student Huang of the MPI Social Work programme was impressed to get on with students from all over China and to study together in Peking University. The enthusiasm for learning of Peking University students inspired her deeply, and she hopes to continue such a positive attitude of the pursuit of knowledge in her future study in MPI.
The MPI Student Affairs Office indicates that the summer school allows students to learn from internationally distinguished scholars, and to experience the school spirit, academic atmosphere and educational level of Peking University; therefore, students' comprehensive literacy and professional capability can be improved. MPI has always been committed to organising students to visit and take part in academic exchange in prestigious universities in China, encouraging students to experience the development and national status of China, so as to enhance students' national consciousness, help them to lay a solid foundation and devote themselves to the future development of Macao and China.

李華輝－體育教育課程4年級
這趟北京大學暑期學習之旅，讓我感到十分驚喜。暑期課程分兩個部分，一是選修課，另一是北大為港澳台學生安排的文化考察活動，這四週的時間令我體會到在北大學習的氣氛和樂趣，同時令我感受到中國濃厚的傳統文化。我在暑期學校選修了“認知科學與經濟學”和“財務報表分析”兩門課，授課老師都十分出色，尤其是財務報表分析的張元鵬老師，這門課的對象是沒有財務基礎的學生，所以他除了總結上年教學的經驗外，他的講義在上課前一刻還在修改，目的就是要讓學生聽明白課堂的內容；而且他上課風趣幽默又不失專業形象，在他的課上我學習到非常多財務知識和人生道理。另外，北大特意為我們安排了戶外文化體驗活動，我們走遍北京極具歷史價值的地方，如故宮、鼓樓和四合院等，另外還親身體驗了坐黃包車、包餃子、剪紙和寫毛筆字的傳統文化活動。
非常感謝澳門理工學院與北京大學給了我一個難得的機會到北大學習。經過這三十天的學習之旅，使我體驗到優秀的學習環境和氣氛、我國傳統文化的博大精深和北京的魅力所在。
黃思凡－社會工作學課程3年級
北京大學，是多少學子心中的夢想啊！而在2018年的暑假，我終於有幸來到這慕名已久的學府。在北大的生活仿如打翻了一個調味瓶，酸甜苦辣都有。我報讀了3門暑期課程，所以功課上的繁重讓我缺失了不少機會去感受北京；但同時也給予我更多時間接觸北大的學生，在他們身上感受到對於成績、學識的追求，似乎只要偷懶那麼一點就會被淘汰。我很感恩在這競爭激烈的學校中，遇到的北大學生都非常熱情，會從旁幫助我融入北大的生活環境中，在週末陪我逛北京，帶我感受道地的北京飲食、生活文化，讓我倍覺感動。
在北大的「未名湖」，我們遇到了彼此，一段真摯的、來自不同地區的友誼，它見證了我們友誼的起始，猶如湖水，靜靜流淌在彼此的心中。
謝明華－言語語言治療課程1年級
這次重回北京，是參加北京大學舉辦的暑期學校，藉著這個機會一睹我國最高學府的風采，吸收新的知識及見聞。 在北大學習期間，校園環境非常優美，有著濃厚的學習氛圍，再加上定時舉辦的團體活動、來自不同地方的同學、菜式豐富的食堂，構成了精彩忙碌的校園生活。而唯一跟想像不接軌的，是碰上了多年未遇的七月雨季，顛覆了我對北方酷暑的刻板印象。
很慶幸能獲得參與暑期學校的機會，得以遇到各地的同學。課餘時間，我們分享各自故鄉的風光及文化，使我彷彿走到當地一樣，對於本身喜歡旅行的我來說，簡直是一大樂事。雖然只有很短的三十天，但我過得非常充實並享受，我忙著課業、忙著交友、忙著見識，忙碌過後未能忘的，是這段時間的回憶，與數之不盡的得著。

回憶起來，這段時光非常充實，一路上都是滿滿的感恩。感恩能參與這次活動，在北京大學收穫滿滿的知識；感恩老師的教導、同學們的親切熱情、室友們的守望相助。雖然只有短短一個月，但早上零碎響起的鬧鐘聲，一起去食堂吃的早餐，上學途中的打打鬧鬧，下課後一起看的電影，在宿舍看出去的月亮，與室友們的歡聲笑語……一幕幕記憶浮現，一份份感動湧上心頭。
感謝澳門理工學院給了我這個機會，讓我去見識、去體驗與感受北京這一座充滿魅力的城市，和北京大學這一所充滿魅力的學校。這次的旅程，不但開闊了我的眼界，豐富了我的所見所聞，也讓我收穫了難能可貴的友誼。感謝北京大學的輔導員們，安排我們體驗到了不一樣的北京；感謝來自五湖四海的同學們，因為熱情的你們，使我這次旅程並不孤單；感謝老師們的耐心教導與啟發，讓我獲益良多。
