Students of all programs are to be informed that the tuition payment of the 2008/2009 academic year is as follows:

Tuition fees for a 3-semester Bachelor’s Degree (Supplementary Year) evening program of the 2008/2009 academic year:

* Payment for each subject for part-time students studying a Higher Diploma Program (6 or 7 semesters) is the same as above.

Eligible students who entered the Higher Diploma in Visual Arts (Educational), Higher Diploma in Music (Educational), and Higher Diploma and Bachelor of Science in Physical Education and Sports programs in the 2000/2001 academic year or after and have a current teaching post in Macao will continue to receive subsidies from the Education and Youth Affairs Bureau (D.S.E.J) for the 2008/2009 academic year. Subsidized students only need to pay 20% of the payment of the Mainland residents.

Tuition fee for auditing students are divided into two categories:
Auditing students who participate in examinations and have their grades indicated on the academic transcripts or certificate will have to pay the total amount of the tuition fee.
Mere auditing students will just have to pay 50% of the standard tuition fee.

Each School at MPI uses different languages for teaching and offers certificates and Higher Diploma Programs with different major subjects (day-time and evening programs are regarded as one program). Honor students** who obtain the highest cumulate grade (0-100) or highest average grade (0-20) by the end of each academic year will receive a 50% deduction from their tuition fee (the amount of tuition fee is according to the category the student belongs) for the following academic year.

According to the agreement signed with the Macao Sports Development Board, the tuition payment of their staff members who study for the Institute’s Higher Diploma in Physical Education and Sports Program will be waived.

According to the collaborative agreement (supplementary regulation) signed by the Institute with the Asia International Open University (Macao) on the 13th of May 2003, full-time staff members of the university who study for the Institute’s Higher Diploma Program or Bachelor supplementary Program are entitled to a 50% tuition deduction.

According to the proposal P022/ESS/2004 of the School of Health Sciences approved by the Management Board, students who take two subjects of which include the graduation thesis and a major subject (including practicum) of the Bachelor of Science in Nursing (supplementary) and Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Studies (supplementary) Programs are regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of the tuition fee. In addition, students of Higher Diploma in Nursing and Higher Diploma in Biomedical Science who have to retake the practicum subject, with the credits retaken being 15 or above, are also regarded as full-time students and should pay the full amount of the tuition fee.

According to the proposal 1034/SCT/2003 of the Finance Department, staff of the Meteorological Bureau who study in the Higher Diploma of Meteorology Program are entitled to a 80% subsidy of the tuition fee from the Bureau, thus they only need to pay 20% of the full amount of tuition fee (the tuition fee for local students).

In accordance with the proposal P093/DAE/2005 of the Registry approved by the Management Board, the tuition fee of full-time students of the Bachelor of Arts in Design (complementary) program should be according to the Institute’s Bachelor’s Degree program’s tuition costs.
