Symposium Notice

Higher education institutions are placing increasing importance on institutional research. To explore theoretical and practical issues with respect to institutional research and disseminate cutting-edge academic research in the area, an international symposium on “Promoting University Development Through Institutional Research” is to be held at Macao Polytechnic Institute on 1-3 December 2014. Colleagues are cordially invited to participate in the Symposium.

Symposium Themes

  1. Comparative studies on institutional research across different countries/regions
  2. Institutional research in relation to programme (professional) accreditation, institutional review and the development of quality assurance systems
  3. Institutional research as a means to inform university governance and strategic management
  4. Institutional research and faculty development
  5. Institutional research in relation to the assurance and enhancement of students' learning opportunities
  6. Institutional management information systems and the development and management of institutional databases

Fee
No fee will be charged for registration or meals. Accommodation will be provided for accepted participants. Travel expenses to and from the symposium and insurance will be the responsibility of the participant.

Paper Format

Chinese Papers (Word format) should include:

  1. Paper title, author’s name, institutional affiliation, job title, academic degree, research interests, contact address, email address (author’s information should be placed in a footer on the front page).
  2. Chinese abstract (300 words or less).
  3. English abstracts (150 words or less).
  4. Key words (5 or less).
  5. Main Text (10,000 words or less).
  6. Notes should be incorporated as footnotes, and references placed at the end of main text. Arabic numerals should be used to number notes.
  7. Font: 新細明體 (traditional) for Chinese, Times New Roman for English, with font Size 12.
  8. Spacing and Borders: Single line spacing; no art for border.
  9. Titles of tables should be placed on the top; titles of graphs/pictures should be placed underneath. Source information should be written underneath tables and graphs with font size 10.

English Papers (Word format) should include:
