It was my first time I went overseas and took part in the study programme. I am glad that I joined this overseas study programme at Monash College in Melbourne. During that period, I had been learning and gaining a lot. I am very grateful that our college gave us this rare opportunity, and let us gain many unforgettable and beautiful memories from this wonderful city. It made my summer vacation full of satisfaction.

I really enjoy living in Melbourne; the environment was great because there was less air pollution, and their foods are very fresh. The views and buildings were very beautiful; the environmental afforestation is done well. We can also see the starry sky at night. We were beguiled by the beautiful view of Melbourne. In addition, people living in Melbourne were very enthusiastic, friendly and they always talk with smiles. This made people close with each other.

In Melbourne, we lived with the host family. How fortunate that I could meet them, and they treated me like their daughter. I really feel their caring and kindness. Everything they had done for me, I remembered in my heart. Although I was shy and my English was poor, they chatted with me patiently. I am really thankful for them. I definitely like Australia and Australians. Melbourne was very cold, but I felt warm in my heart because of them.

Because it was a study programme, we had the lessons at Monash College. We also had the company and university visit. It was a great activity that made us understand more about their culture. The first week, we had the lessons with our Macau students, but in the second and third week, we had the lessons with some Japanese students. All of them were very nice and friendly, and the lesson was more lively because of them.

Actually, I am very grateful for the instructors of Monash College. They taught us carefully and patiently. We had learnt many things from them, like Australian culture and, presentation and communication skills. Their teaching methods were interactive; they gave us many chances of discussion in class, and made us participate. We didn’t feel bored in their classes. I really liked having their lessons.

Because we had the group project with those Japanese students, so we must speak English when we communicated. It was helpful for us to improve our English and let us learn what teamwork was. Further, we also learnt what friendship was because of them. I really enjoyed the time with them, both in discussion and having dinner after lessons.

In addition to learning a lot of knowledge and culture in this programme, the most touching part for me was people. We always did not want to leave at the end of the programme, and we wanted to stop the time in that moment. Parting was always full of tear. I was so lucky that I could meet everyone in Melbourne, especially my host family. Thank you for giving me those precious memories. I will definitely remember those memories forever. After we come back to Macau, we also keep contact with our classmates. Even though the programme was ended, our friendship still exists. I really hope our friendship can last forever. “Parting is for making the better reunion next time.” I believe that we will meet again.
