I have gained a lot of experience in the study program in Australia. I went to a lot of places and have a chance to explore them on my own. There was no one to help unless I asked. This can help me in solving problems. When I asked for help, I needed to communicate with the foreigners and listened to them carefully or I would get lost. It is a good way to train my listening skills.

As I stayed in a homestay for two weeks, I learned more about the people and their culture. Australians are very nice and causal. They think that water is very precious and the water is very expensive. They use dish cleaners rather than washing the dishes by hand. They even take very short showers. This also influences me not to waste water and treasure it. Besides, it is very interesting that they do not have any lock on their doors in their houses, or even in the toilets.

Dinner is the main meal of the day. They usually do not have breakfast or lunch with their family. They usually have barbecue or spaghetti for dinner. Breakfast or lunch will eat sandwiches.

As for I have learned communication skills in University of Queensland such as how to be a good house guest, how to communicate effectively and how to communicate with strangers. All these are very useful in our daily life. There are also some activities during lessons such as visiting Lone Pine and Port of Brisbane. Lone Pine is a zoo which has some famous animals such as kangaroos and koalas. You can feed and touch the kangaroos at a close distance. You can also take photos with koalas. They are very cute and tame. At the Port of Brisbane, I see how the port runs and learn about export and import in Australia from the staff there.

University of Queensland is a very good place to study in. The teachers are very nice and they teach us through games and activities. This makes the lesson more entertaining and makes me more willing to learn. Besides, the environment in the University is very nice too. There are lake, library, art museum, and even salon in the campus.

Through this study program, I have learned how to get along with other people as I stayed with an Australian family for two weeks with the family. I need to communicate with them in English. We started from being total strangers to becoming good friends. I also need to learn how to try to keep a good relationship with them too. Besides, I have learned that I need to try to solve problems on my own before asking someone for help, as always asking for help may cause some trouble to the homestay family and friends.

This program is a very memorable experience for me and I hope that next year I can still have the chance to join this kind of study program because it can help me to become more and more mature and broaden my horizon.
