Now some time has passed since I came back to Macau from Brisbane, Australia. It was a fascinating and unforgettable trip! I am used to travelling in Asia and this was my first step into the Southern Hemisphere. I had a great time and had a great experience during these 2 weeks.

Before the trip, I was worried about the cultural differences between Australia and Macau, because all countries and its culture have their differences. But my opinion totally changed when I arrived in Brisbane.

In the study program, I learned grammar, pronunciation, communication, new words, and how to speak like an Aussie through group work, lectures and speaking to foreigners face to face. I felt great learning English in such a beautiful place and relaxing atmosphere. Students at the University of Queensland campus have a great environment for studying. The buildings are beautiful and attractive rural grounds with a large grassed area. I enjoyed the pleasant environment with library, swimming pool, tennis courts and playground. There is an art gallery, with pieces of Art and Designs which impressed me a lot. Besides study in class, the teachers encouraged us to learn English outside the class. We went for some day trips during the class, including interviewing people that we don't know, going into city with an Aussie, visiting the Lone Pine secretary and Port of Brisbane. I got to know more about the culture and interesting stories through the visiting gallery of modern art with an Aussie. I felt exited to go to Lone Pine secretary, that was my first time to see kangaroos and koalas. I held a koala in my arms and fed the kangaroo’s baby, I felt happy and joyful. The most impressing event of all was joining the EKKA! The EKKA is Queensland largest annual event. I saw different kind of things there including exhibits, educational displays, animals, fireworks and performances. We went to buy the showbags, and shop in the food and beverage outlets. All of us had a good time in the Ekka.

Aside from campus life in Brisbane, I also enjoyed the time with my homestay family. The house is located on the hill. It was a new experience for me to stay on a hill. I liked the house which had a lovely garden. It is very British and nice. The mother of the home stay family is very kind to me. She gave me everything I need. Every time I was home, she welcomed me and talked with me sincerely. Furthermore, I love my team from Macau. I was really glad to be with a group of people coming from different majors. We studied together, and went for trips together. During the trip, I also made many Japanese friends when I was in Australia.

This was an amazing opportunity to get experience, enrich my knowledge and improve my English speaking skills. As a graphic design student it widened my horizons, expanded my worldview and inspired me with new ideas. To conclude, I want to say thank you to IPM for giving me this precious chance.
