Macao Polytechnic Institute and the Bell Educational Trust have now joined hands by creating the new MPI-Bell Centre of English. The Centre was established in April 2003 and officially opened on October 9, 2003. It has been expressly set up to provide the highest quality ESOL (English as a Second or Other Language) and ESP (English for Special Purposes) English language courses. The courses that the MPI-Bell Centre of English offer are carefully focused on client requirements, and tailored to best supply the specific needs of every client, as well as comprehensively meet the aims of their target learning groups.

MPI-Bell Centre of English offer courses taught by highly qualified and internationally experienced trainers, using a combination of state-of-the-art pedagogy and materials, as well as supplementing these with the latest multi-media language learning technology.

Current course methodology in the teaching of languages involves participants playing active and responsible roles in the classroom as well as being encouraged to recognise the most effective methods of gaining and using language. This methodology is both learner-centred and communicative, with the teacher's most active role being that of a facilitator. Participants will therefore be provided with and encouraged to discover language through a variety of methods, using multimedia, paper resources and input from the teacher and other participants. Class activities will include pair work, group work, role play, simulation and task-based learning, as well as the more traditional methods of formal teaching and pronunciation practice.

If you have already identified specific English language training needs for your staff, we would be very pleased to come and meet you to discuss them in view of subsequently offering our language training services to you. If, however, you have not already decided on the particular training needs of your staff, we would like to offer you our full consulting and language auditing services in order to establish where your training needs are and how best to meet them.

We do hope that you will feel free to contact us at any time should you wish to discuss any aspects of the points above in more detail.
