Insurance Coverage for MPI Students

In order to ensure that students studying in the Macao Polytechnic Institute are being insured during classes, their stay in the Institute's hostel or school's activities, the Institute has bought 'Group Personal Accident Insurance' for students. If students, unfortunately, were injured during classes, their stay in the Institute's hostel or school's activities, please kindly approach the Registry during office hours (within one month) to apply for insurance compensation. Please kindly be reminded that the injured person should present proof document (e.g. document issued by the doctor) with the application. Application forms can be obtained in the Division for Students Affairs or can be downloaded from the MPI website (Student's Corner).

Documents required:

-	Completed "Macao Insurance" application form;
-	ID copy;
-	Student ID copy;
-	Written medical proof and the original copy of treatment (issued by hospitals or clinics) ;
-	Class timetable, schedule of competition and activities;
-	The original transcript of witness of the accident;
-	The original recover proof (issued by hospitals or clinics).

The main coverage and clauses for the 'Group Personal Accident Insurance' are as follows:

-	Bodily injured sustained by students during classes / school's activities in Macao;
-	Bodily injured sustained by students during usual travel to and from the school, usual travel means one hour prior to/after the lecture / session time;
-	Injured sustained by students during driving motors to classes / school’s activities in Macao;
-	Bodily injured sustained by students outside Macao while participating in school organized activities (e.g. participating in classes / competitions / interchange programs / visits) ;
-	Bodily injured sustained by students (School of Physical Education and Sports) while participating competitions. Medical insurance compensation for students of School of Physical Education and Sports is the double of other students.
-	Medical treatment out of Macao is covered (for emergency injured out of Macao only)
-	Students studying in the higher diploma / bachelor degree programme or in the Seniors Academy are insured;
-	The age limit for students studying in the higher diploma / bachelor degree programme is 60 years old and 86 years old for students studying in the Seniors Academy.

The main coverage and clauses for students' stay in the Institute's hostel are as follows:

-	Bodily injured sustained by students during their participating activities / stay in the Institute’s hostel;
-	Bodily injured sustained by students during usual travel to and from the Institute’s hostel.

The compensation limit:

Death due to accidents	MOP 100,000.00
Permanent disability due to accidents	MOP 100,000.00
Medical fee(per person / per each accident)	MOP 5,000.00
Medical fee(per person / per each accident)	MOP 10,000.00 (only applied to students of School of Physical Education and Sports)
