1.

Both current and new MPI students (whether graduates from local or non-local secondary schools or working individuals) who hold valid Macao resident identity cards are eligible for the MPI Grant;

2.

* The average monthly income per capita of the applicant’s family in the same household should not exceed 4,700 patacas (MOP$ 4,700.00);

3.

Students who have obtained an equivalent or higher degree of the same major are not eligible to apply for the MPI Grant;

4.

Students who have already obtained any form of financial assistance or loans(** except for scholarships) from any institutions in Macao are not eligible for the MPI Grants;

Monthly income per capita = total income of family members in the same household ÷ the total number of family members in the same household ÷ 12 months.

Scholarship holders may also apply for the MPI Grant. Chances of being granted will not be in conflict or influenced by Scholarships.

Students may obtain the Application Form for MPI Grant at the Registry of MPI, and return the completed Application Form together with the following documents to the Registry:

1.1

Copy of applicant's identity card;

1.2

Copy of identity card documents of all family members of the same household;

1.3

Copy of academic transcript of the latest year (not applicable to current MPI students);

1.4

Income declarations of the latest year (from June last year to May this year inclusive) signed by the employers from all working family members (including the applicant); declaration should also be submitted in case any member was unemployed during particular month(s); the Income Declaration Form provided by MPI should be used for such declaration purpose;

Family members who work as freelancers or professionals (such as licensed doctors or insurance agents) should submit the occupational tax notification (M16) for the latest year; entrepreneurs should submit the income tax notification (M5) for the latest year;

Rental receipt or payment documents of housing mortgage for the latest month (owned properties without mortgage should be declared in the application);

Copy of student card of family members in the same household who are aged 18 or over and currently registered students;

2.

MPI has the right to disqualify an applicant who fails to submit all the above required information before the specified deadline (please refer to the “Important Items to Note”);

3.

Applicants are obliged to provide further documents before the deadline specified by MPI;

Dates of announcing the Provisional list of beneficiaries and for appeal (please refer to the “Important Items to Note”):

4.1

The provisional list of beneficiaries will be announced on the Student Bulletin Board;

4.2

Appeals should be made in written notification to the Registry;

4.3

Any adjustments due to withdrawal or justified appeal will be announced in the final list of beneficiaries.

The final list of beneficiaries (please refer to the “Important Items to Note”) will be announced on the Student Bulletin Board.

MPI Grant is only payable to students who have made full payment of tuition fees. Applicants who have not paid the tuition fees before the specified deadline will be considered voluntarily withdrawing the MPI Grant application.

MPI Grant is valid for one academic year. Applicants should reapply for the Grant by for every new academic year by the deadline specified. Students graduating by the end of the first semester (i.e. graduating in February) will be eligible to the MPI Grant for the first semester only; Students registered after the first semester (i.e. admitted in February) will be eligible to the MPI Grant for the second semester only;

Applicants sampled randomly are obliged to facilitate MPI in home visits, and should provide further required documents before the deadline as requested by MPI representatives conducing home visits; otherwise those applicants will be disqualified;

4.

Successful applicants are required to fill in a Declaration Form to confirm acceptance or declination, and to declare compliance with Article III clause 4 of these regulations;

5.

Beneficiaries in the provisional list are required to submit before the deadline to the Registry completed Declaration Form (please refer to the “Important Items to Note”), together with the Bank Transfer/Remittance Authorization Form and copy of bank passbook of the applicant or authorized recipient. Beneficiaries who fail to submit the above documents in time will be considered voluntarily withdrawing the MPI Grant application.

The MPI Grant will be revoked under the following circumstances or if any applicant is found violating these regulations:

1.1

When the applicants are at the same time receiving other financial assistance or loans, regardless of any form, from any institutions in Macao;

Suspected perjury or false claims;

2.

MPI reserves the rights to revoke any Grant and pursue full repayment;

Applicants involved in suspected perjury or false claims will receive written reprimand which will be filed to the student record. Reprimanded students will be automatically disqualified for any Grant application during the entire period of studies in MPI.
