During the sharing session of Olympic gold medalists “Sportsmanship Entering Campus”, Vivian Lei, the Vice President of MPI, thanked China Soong Ching Ling Foundation for its support to the all-rounded development of Macao college students and youth. Lei said that organising this “Sportsmanship Entering Campus” event in the year marking the 70th Anniversary of the Founding of the People’s Republic of China and the 20th Anniversary of the Establishment of Macao SAR was especially meaningful. This event brought sportsmanship and love to the campus through champion athletes’ sharing of their mental journey and personal experience of pursuing dreams and their interaction with students. They transferred their positive energy to students, encouraged them to pursue their dreams, to face challenges in life bravely, as well as to work hard with a humble and persistent attitude at school, at work and in life. Students in this new era carry forward the missions of the development of the country and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area. Lei encouraged them to follow the example of the champion athletes and contribute to the construction of the motherland and Macao.

During his speech, Jing Dunquan pointed out that since the establishment of China Soong Ching Ling Foundation, they have been following the instruction of Soong Ching-ling to "create the future" and have devoted great efforts to promoting the development of youth culture, education, sports and other fields. The “Champion Athletes’ Fund” is expected to pass on to youth the sports spirit of "hard-working, surpassing oneself, perseverance” and to encourage them on the path of pursuing their dreams through the inspirational stories of champion athletes. Champion athletes have worked hard for a long time to win honours for the country, make great contributions to boost the competitiveness of the national sports and promote national fitness. Jing said that since returning to the Motherland twenty years ago, Macao has been developing rapidly and the quality of life of Macao citizens has improved significantly. MPI has firmly adhered to the principle of “remaining rooted in Macao with love for our country and the local society, and serving the local society with an eye to the world” and has cultivated many outstanding talents with professionalism and innovative spirit for the motherland and Macao. Jing hoped that sportsmanship could bring inspiration and strength to college students. He expected students to grow healthily so as to shoulder the mission of the new era: “The responsibility of the era is given to the youth, and the glory of the era belongs to the youth”.
