MPI Students Learn About the Cultural and Creative Industries in Taiwan

In response to the policy of the Macao SAR Government to develop the cultural and creative industries, the Student Affairs Office organized 22 students from different programmes to participate in a“Move to Learn”activity in Taiwan, for the purpose of inspiring students' to gain a better understanding of the cultural and creative industries and to enhance their creative abilities.

During the“Move to Learn”activity, MPI students attended cultural and creative courses conducted by, amongst others, Professor Peter Feng (President of the Taiwan Cultural and Creative Association), the famous film producer and director Lee Gang, and Mr. Hsu Hsiaote (Chief Curator of the Department of Cultural Creativity and Marketing, National Palace Museum in Taipei), to learn about the history of the development of the cultural and creative industries in Taiwan, film culture and creativity, and the value of cultural assets. In addition MPI students visited Songshan Cultural and Creative Park, Cloud Gate Theater, the National Palace Museum in Taipei, and the famous porcelain art designer and producer, Franz Collection Inc., and experienced working with clay.

Students involved in the“Move to Learn”activity were thankful to MPI for providing them with this opportunity to learn about a professional topic alongside their academic programmes. The Student Affairs Office believes that this activity enabled students to gain a better understanding of the core concepts underpinning the cultural and creative industries, while at the same time promoting students' whole-person development and broadening their international horizons, thereby cultivating talented future graduates with“Knowledge, Expertise, Global Vision”for Macao society.
