The 3rd International Conference on English, Discourse and Intercultural Communication will be held in Macao (Part I) and Urumqi, Xinjiang Uygur Autonomous Region, China (Part II), from June 21st – 27th, 2011. Under the conference theme of English, discourse and intercultural communication, the conference topics include: ELT (English Language Teaching) in the global/ local context; new social, cultural and critical discourses in English language education; English and language universals/typology, translation and interpretation studies, comparative cultural studies, intercultural dialogues and critiques in language and communication studies, English as a global lingua franca and the future of Chinese and other non-western languages and traditions, communicative language teaching (CLT) and cross-cultural pragmatic competence, bilingual and multilingual acquisition, revisiting humanistic and other “traditional” approaches in ELT classroom. Around 280 scholars with different disciplinary backgrounds and ELT professionals from the UK, USA, Australia, Poland, Hungary, Turkey, Japan, Republic of Korea, Thailand, Malaysia, China’s Mainland, Hong Kong, Taiwan, as well as Macao, will participate in this exciting conference in two places of great geographical and cultural interest. |

| A counter will be set up in the lobby of the Rio Hotel from 10:00am to 10:00pm on June 21st for registration purpose. Participants please approach MPI staffs at the reception counter and collect the participant's card and relevant conference materials. |
Registration for Macao participants: |
| Registration could be done in the morning of June 22nd, from 9:00am to 9:30am before the Opening Ceremony of the Conference. The registration counter will be located outside the Lecture Theatre 1 of Wui Chi Building, Macao Polytechnic Institute. |
