| Introduction |
The MPI-Bell Centre of English is now the testing centre for The Cambridge ESOL Teaching Knowledge Test in Macao. As a result we would like to offer a Teaching Knowledge Test preparation course to be taught by qualified and experienced teacher-trainers. This professional development course is designed for teachers who are seeking additional qualifications in the near future. The course combines examination preparation aimed at developing relevant test-taking strategies for the TKT, with overall teacher development and professional growth. The Teaching Knowledge Test is designed for easy access and consists entirely of multiple-choice questions. No writing is required. |
| Who is this course for ? |
This course is for teachers of English who would like to become better teachers. It will help working teachers to improve their classroom skills through a range of specialized input and practical training. We will focus particularly on practical techniques designed to improve teacher’s knowledge of English, understanding of the teaching and learning processes and classroom management skills. The Teaching Knowledge Test is aimed at non-native speaking English teachers with an intermediate or higher level of English. Applicants for the MPI-Bell TKT course will be given a brief English level test before they start the course. |

| Objectives |
This course will prepare teachers for modules 1, 2 and 3 of the Teaching Knowledge Test; covering the background knowledge every English teacher needs including lesson planning, the use of resources and managing the learning process. Teachers who take this course will also learn over 400 educational and technical terms related to language learning and English teaching. After taking this course teachers will have a more through understanding of the ideas behind English teaching today, be better able to further develop professionally and have a greater self-awareness as teachers. |

| This course is a 50-hour course, with classes twice a week over 12 and a half weeks. |
